Hi! I applied to 3 academies and NROTC. I have a medical disqualification and received a waiver for both USNA and USAFA. NROTC is still pending—for weeks my status said “Under Waiver Review”. Just recently my status for NROTC has changed to “Under DoDMERB Review”. What is the difference between the two? Is this good/bad/neutral?

comply with the FAST stick under the DoDMERB tab in SA Forums and I can better help you from there. :)

I am in the same boat...may I ask what you were able to find out regarding the difference between “Under waiver review” & now “under DoDMERB review”? Thanks in advance for any insight.

UNDER WAIVER REVIEW = DoDMERB has posted the file to the medical team at the waiver authority. Admissions is the one that decides IF the medical team should review for a waiver, so it's kind of a misnomer. So UNDER WAIVER REVIEW means te medical team HAS the medical file.

UNDER DODMERB REVIEW = Exactly that. It may be we received the initial exam and are reviewing it. It may mean that AMI/Remedials have been received and NOW the Reviewer or the Doc is reviewing it.

Does that help?

Soooooo...... does it also say Under Waiver Review after a waiver has been requested and it’s being reviewed by WA? 😬

It says Under Waiver Review until Admissions changes the status: waiver granted or denied or withdrawn or remedial requested (waiver authority requested remedial)

So the status of “pending waiver submission/review” on DoDMERB site then doesn’t necessarily mean that the WA from the SA has asked for file and are in the process of reviewing the file for a waiver? I have just seen this status lingo before and seems like this status is triggered when the WA has asked for a candidate’s file. Does this status even exist anymore then...knowing that the status of “under waiver review” may be the last status update we see before we hear a yes or no form SA?

Correct.
The explanations I provided above are correct as stated😁

What reviewer/Doc would be reviewing it under UDR per above explanation? Is that under DoDMERB or WA for a waiver request?

If waiver authorities had previously been sent the waiver AMI data/results/info from DoDMERB and it was UWR, but now UDR... Would that mean something got kicked back to DoDMERB to review?

Thanks

I would have to see the specific case. It's probable that new information was sent in and that label is being used when DoDMERB is processing it :wiggle:

Nevermind...It since changed to the waiver decision.

I am guessing it was just an administrative step while DoDMERB was finalizing the file.

Thanks

So is the only way to track the waiver process on DoDMERB until you are notified by the admissions? For me, it says under waiver review on Dodmerb by still disqualified on the USAFA portal.

So if you are "UNDER DODMERB REVIEW", does that mean the service academy has deemed you academically qualified as they are going through with obtaining the wavier?

Your items were posted to the waiver authority on Wed Jan 19, 2022 15:58:25:wiggle:

Thank you. I am sorry if I am misunderstanding, but does this mean the SA has requested for my info to go through with the waiver?
