Over 30% of the Class of 2027 are minorities, almost 30 percent are female, and their average high school GPA for the class of 2027 was 3.84.

USAFA doesn't seem to have the detailed "DEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE OF THE INCOMING USAFA CLASS OF 202X" PDF for c/o 27 posted, however I would imagine it would be in the middle of the classes of 2025 & 2026 (though likely closer to 2026). Looking specifically at the number of qualified candidates, it is a considerable percent of applicants (or even candidate pool) who are not qualified. And the step from qualified to appointed has hovered around 50%.
So if your DD/DS is a qualified candidate, there's nothing left but hoping that the 'candidate to admitted' statistics favor that of last year.

Hello, I wanted to ask, has anybody from VA heard anything from admissions yet? I only see one appointment reported so far from ddva1 so I wanted to check in.
DD received conditional appointment in Jan. Didn’t list yet because…. It’s still conditional

I'm from VA and I got my USAFA appointment back in December. I have senator + presidential nominations. I didn't add anything to the appointment list because I want to wait until I finalize my decision.

You sure add yourself to the list since you received an appointment even if you decide to decline later.

My son applied to the AFA, 2028 class, and is fully qualified. We live in Colorado Springs and waiting to hear like some/most on this thread. This thread has been very helpful, and I wish everyone who hasn't received an appointment the very best.
I spoke with one of the ALO's this morning and he explained, like I think most of you know, that the AFA reviews in groupings and that April is a big month for announcements. Decisions/appointments can even go into May. This information was also confirmed by someone else who knows this process well. The ALO was able to check on my son's status and he is qualified waiting for committee review. So, at this point, according to the ALO, it is highly likely that he hasn't even been reviewed by the committee yet.
Waiting is hard but, as I've told my son, no news is still good news. I hope this information is helpful and I'll post his status one way or another once we hear from the AFA.
