USAFA Waiting Thread C/O 2027

In the forum for one of the other SAs, the observation was made that for that SA, applicants who were in the running for Prep School or subsidized prep year were usually informed of that before getting a TWE from the SA. Is that also the case with the AFA? Or does a TWE have no meaning at all regarding Prep School or Falcon Foundation?
During my cycle about half the falcons got a twe and about half got rejected with the offer in the same email.

Hello, that is a great question.
I had something very weird happen to me last year. I was not given a TWE on April 21 nor any status update. I just kept waiting and waiting all through May. I was very confused but I thought maybe I was in the running for something as there were still a few people waiting with me and other people were getting TWE's and some were even getting direct appointments as well. It wasn't until May 21 that I heard from USAFA that I received a Falcon Foundation scholar ship. Although I have heard from other Falcons I met, that they received a TWE first then they got notified of the Falcon foundation scholarship afterward. I also saw some people who got a Falcon scholarship first get it reverted to a direct appointment late May/ early June time frame. It certainly is a weird process and you never know what will happen, but I hope to clear your question up somewhat.

God this wait is so painful! I am waiting on a DQ waiver and this process truly tests your patience. It will be such a relief when I finally hear back, whether it's an acceptance or denial

Hopefully you’ll hear soon. My son’s waiver was requested at the beginning of February and was approved today.

Did he have an AMI to take care of?
Yes, there were 2 that he had reported on his medical form. After Dodmerb received his records they found a 3rd reason for a DQ. He spent a week or more going back and forth with DoDMERB and his doctor to get that resolved. The doctor added an addendum to his medical record and DoDMERB deleted the additional DQ. It was a week after that the waiver was approved.

Does anyone know how the notification appears in the portal for appointment? Assuming it is there as a status change and preceeded by an email.

Be thankful that you are waiting on the waiver as it means that you are at least in the hunt. DD has heard nothing but silence.

HI Everyone--are you being notified by email when there is a "decision" in the portal? Should my son be checking every day?

Sorry--was that "yes they are sending emails" or "yes he should be checking email every day"?
yes to both i believe, an email should be sent saying a decision has been made. my DD Has been checking her portal daily as well in the event the email gets "lost in transmit" were still waiting as well. best of luck

Should we "sticky" the Waiting and Appointment list threads?
