USMA Class of 2017 Acceptance Thread

I asked this on WP's facebook page but I didn't receive a clear response.

If I haven't received a call from my congressman, and there is nothing in the official correspondence section of my candidate portal, does that mean that I am not going to be receiving a letter or BFE in the mail this week?

Any help from those of you above who have already been accepted would be great. And congratulations on being accepted!

Not all MOCs call the winning candidate, and it seems as though unless you're an active duty soldier the official correspondence section of the candidate portal has not changed for anyone (accepted or waiting) - You're still in the game, the best thing to do now is to be patient!

Appointment received

Our Florida DS received a call from Florida Senator Nelson last Fri and Congressman Posey on Sat...then got his BFE with the formal appointment in the mail today. We are so proud of his perseverance. He had a LOA and nomination last year but due to the late approval of his medical waiver, the class was full before it was finally approved. He was then given another LOA and told he had to repeat the process. Due to his determination he made it this year! To all of you who really want this...don't give up! Go for what you want! Our son proves that persistence pays off;)

Congrats to all BFE recipients...My DS has LOE and is 3Q (no letter) with congressional nomination. Anxiously awaiting mail daily. Mom and Dad at their wit's end! DS manically tracking FB posts, forum posts, portal, email, voicemail...please...bring us a BFE!
 
I know exactly how your DS feels I am in the exact same boat. It is going to give me high blood pressure.

I've been a lurker since Nov when I found this forum via some google'ing. Other than me driving her to a few appts & signing a couple of forms, the DD applied & did it on her own. She's an LOA recipient & was quite calm about it until this morning when she finally saw the WP Admissions FB post of the BFE's shipping out (I didn't tell her I saw the photo Friday) & later she saw her SLS friends posting their appointment certificates. Everyone who has got an appointment so far, and everyone who's still to get a BFE:

Congratulations! You've earned it. I look forward to sharing my campus with y'all (because, you know, I'll be an upperclassman and all... heh). Seriously though, you are all in for a hell of a ride :cool:. Now, make sure y'all are in shape and good to go when you get here! Don't stress too much over basic training. Just come with an open mind and ready to learn new things about West Point, the Army, and yourself.

Once again, congratulations!

For all of you who are yet to receive an appointment: HANG IN THERE... I know the waiting sucks! I myself got my appointment in April... The waiting is terrible, but it's worth it in the end :)
 
Congrats to all the offers today. I hear there is a lack of information in the BFE on how to accept. Tomorrow, supposedly the portals will be updated so offereds can accept online. So with or without the BFE, the first waive should know tomorrow for sure...just maybe not so glamorously. Looking forward to seeing all the updates.

All the sleepless nights, stress, SAT books, and waiting have culminated into this single black folder that I now hold in my hand. A childhood dream has come true.
