USMA grad, a Communist?

Am I the only one who thinks the communism references are referring to the "authoritarian" nature of West Point and this all him putting a big middle finger to it now that he's graduated and done, OR just him being obnoxious and doing all of this for the ironic humor and not actually being a Communist? Something I'm missing?

Yeah, um... I don't think so. He's not some junior high kid. He's an officer in the US Army. You might want to actually read his stuff.

Anybody notice how his name Spenser has too many esses in it? It's subversive, like the word "subversive," itself. It's like "seditious," and "insidious," too, and like "socialist," "suspicious," "fascist," and "communist." ;)

Can't wait for Army/Navy when they all take a knee. Young men who sacrifice so these morons can state their opinions.

I really don't mind when American citizens use free speech, as long as it's protected speech under the First Amendment (obviously, the Army still needs to make a judgment on the speech of this Lt, but I suspect you weren't just talking about him.)

If I ever start to resent people enjoying the freedoms of the First Amendment, I'll probably start seriously researching a follow-on career.

Communism is a moral and ethical disease. By all means, it may mean well on its exterior, but throughout history, practice has shown that it can't and won't work. Not only that, but it is an enemy to any other area of the political spectrum. Be they totalitarian absolute monarchies, dictatorial fascist states, or representative republics. They all must go. Communism is absolute.

As a result, Communism cannot work with the American political scene or, frankly, with our way of life. This part may be argued; but it is my opinion that America is a very materialist and individualist nation. Collectivism is a key part of Communism and, as a result, it took off better in a collectivist state like the failing Chinese Republic and Russian Empire. Communism cannot work here.

What is my point? Frankly, this man is a shame to West Point. He is expressing Free Speech, yes, but he made an oath and swore under that oath- "solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion..."

The worst part, in my mind, is what could have been. By that I mean- his district could've had some other kid that wanted just as much to attend; was just as qualified; received a nomination; and, it was just luck of the draw that one was selected over the other.

I am not trying to offend anyone here- Free Speech is a great tool, and the double-edged sword is that people can also make opinions you don't like. I can say what I'm saying now, and the KKK can preach racial slurs all day. But, this is greater than that. He is serving a country which, by his beliefs, he cannot stand to respect given that it is the stark contrast to his own beliefs. As such, I say get him outta there.

Army will clean this up in as quiet way as possible like all the other things that not so smart soldiers do. I have also noticed quite a bit of fake news out there. Trust only a trusted source.

Crap I only made an Article 15. An Article 88 must be a big one.

A WP professor who mentored Rapone has been put on administrative leave.

http://americanmilitarynews.com/201...acebook&utm_campaign=alt&utm_source=davidwebb
I find this very disturbing. This professor seems to be dragged into this only because of his association with Rapone. I am sure he has mentored many cadets over the years. It is unfair that some sites quickly throw him under the bus without facts. Professors/mentors are rarely attacked when other students engage in criminal/nefarious activity. Hmmm, could it be because he is Muslim? I am sad for him and his family.

@MomWPgirl

Quote: Breitbart News Network reported that West Point confirmed Hosein was on administrative leave but that it was not related to Rapone.
“We are unable to provide information regarding administrative actions but can confirm that the details are unrelated to 2nd Lieutenant Rapone,” the spokesman told Breitbart.

Either WP is being truthful in stating that 'the details are unrelated to 2nd Lt Rapone' or they are lying. For now, I'm comfortable assuming that WP is telling the truth and that he is on administrative leave for another reason.

Yeah I wasn't tracking the comments he made. It still doesn't surprise me much. Lots of people in the Army who are pretty out-of-left-field in their politics. And Officers do plenty of junior-high level dumb stuff, ask anyone who's ever been on Staff Duty or CQ or been at any formal or informal military event. Most of us all've heard or seen dumber. I am not justifying this kid, simply stating that I am not shocked at all.

Breaks my black-n-gold heart that this moron is from the Steeler Nation. I'm sure I know a few AD - Army & AF - who'd have strong words regarding his future.

Oh, I know about doing junior high level stuff. I was in Korea as a JO. Fortunately it was before smart phones with cameras.

Or maybe he's under investigation for "sexual assault" of a female rugby player. Which way does the virtue signalling wind blow now?

A professor can be put on administrative leave for numerous things...an investigation doesn't need to be thrown in as one of them. So many USMA affiliated people have been sharing articles about the professor on social media and I just find it sad. A man's career and reputation is political fodder because of innuendo and an association with Rapone. Again, just feel sad for the man and his family. I prefer facts to innuendo.

This sounds like either a tweet from a troll farm in St. Petersburg or a blogpost from Mike Cernovich.

Very cryptic. Very sly. Like, maybe there's a child abuse ring in the basement of a pizzeria in Washington DC.

Very classy.

You might look into the facts of his case. Like the fact that the was the faculty advisor to the female rugby team. My information is from a father of one of those players.
