Prior to 1 April - yes, they have target goals they are seeking to fill per state. After 1 April, they move down their National Wait List.

and we have our 2nd year in a row acceptance!

date of acceptance 3/31, DS, MD, Senate appointment (6th appointment... is there a record

) no LOA though he was a recruited athlete the first year
I have no idea what appointment type means?!? He will accept

Question for the group. When checking the application portal, out DS discovered he was offered the prep-school in NM. Does this mean he is no longer in the NWL? And is not being considered for the USMMA any more? He has until May 1st to accept.

While it is possible for the school to change direction and offer a sponsored prep school slot today, and then convert to a direct appointment tomorrow -- this scenario is unlikely. In general, a student offered prep has been determined to have specific elements of their profile that would benefit from an additional year of prep before entry. The offer is great though and is a golden ticket into the next class. Should the student accept and complete the program successfully, they have a seat in the next class.

In last year's application cycle we met a mom who had a daughter applying to USMMA and a son applying to USMMA from the prep school in NM. They had only great things to say about the NM school.
Good news, they are both in their first year at USMMA together now.
