USNA 2025 Waiting and....Waiting

Hi I am still waiting on my status for USNA. I have received 2 nominations (Congressional and Senate - and I think 1 of them may be principal nomination). Is there a lot of other people waiting? I turned mine in the first week of February.

Self/No Loa/(MOC NOM)/ believe I’m 3Qed. Kinda let my plan b, c & d fly by as I was planning on going into nuclear engineering and that paired with nrotc is hard to find schools that I can really get excited about. Plan on working, taking a year of community college and really working on SAT/ACT as I was unable to take them this year. I’m from Washington 7th district if you’re wondering and man I am not a fan of this waiting
Did you look at the Navy NUPOC Program, given your interest in nuclear engineering? Very generous, plenty of those folks at Purdue and other top engineering schools.

ds/no loa/hoping for a waiver/moc nom
can you please tell me what DS and DD stand for, embarrassed to ask but I'm new to this and i'm trying to keep up with the lingo. Still waiting for notification as well. No LOA, under waiver review.....

DS = Dear Son DD = Dear Daughter - there is an acronym thread somewhere here that you should check out.

Ohhhh thanks!!!!

Self/ No LOA/ 3Q/ MOC and NROTC noms/ college re-app/ tier 1 major

Just awarded NROTC scholarship for host school. Was a college programmer all year.
Put on NWL for USMA and waiting on update from USNA.
Congrats, and good luck! What is a “tier 1” major? Computer science?

DS/ 2 noms (NC Rep and Sen)/ no LOA/ under waiver review (color deficient). Will he be one of the possible 2%:confused2:
Plan B set (NCSU) with Plan C gaining ground (U of SC), visiting over spring break.
Will go AFROTC with more opportunities d/t color deficiency.
I received one of those waivers! Was under waiver review for that condition for nearly 6 months and got the waiver which was the last requirement for my LOA to become an appointment. There were many times I began losing hope about the waiver by many current mids I know tried reassuring me that they have friends who got that waiver. Best of luck!

I’m glad to know others are in the waiting game too! I believe I’m academically and physically qualified, but I haven’t heard anything about my medical. I had the exam in early January and it’s not checked off in my portal but I’m medically qualified for USAFA so I’m not too worried. Is anyone else waiting for their medical status to be checked off?
ours hasn't been checked off yet either :(

I have looked into it a bit but from my understanding it is only a two year program so it is best for me to take two years of cc and then go into a four year and apply for NUPOC. Am I understanding the program right? If not I’d love to understand what I am understanding

I always recommend going straight to a primary source to discuss the current program and how it works.

You’ll want to find an officer recruiter. They are not at the shopping mall offfices where enlisted personnel focus on recruiting for the enlisted ranks. Officer recruiters work out of a regional office. Find the office for your area in the link below, organize your thoughts and questions, call and introduce yourself, ask for an officer handling the NUPOC program. Recruiters appreciate leads who call them.

In particular, discuss your current plan of attending a community college and if that will make you competitive enough down the road to apply. Those interested in nuclear engineering are always attractive to the Navy.

You can also Google “colleges with NUPOC engineering programs,” to search for colleges active with NUPOCs.
