Hi, I’m new here:)
I’m applying for USNA for class of 2023.
My ACT score just came out and I wasn’t sure if I should send my ACT or SAT score.

ACT SUPERSCORED:
English:34
Math:30
Reading:30
Science:33

SAT:

Reading: 680
Math: 740

I know that this isn’t the best score and I could take another act in the October to bring my math up, which might raise my super score to 33. Should I do that?

Look up USNA’s class profile for 2022 and compare your numbers (it shows middle 50% for test scores, which were highest in academy history). Strive to be in the top 25% to give yourself the best chance. But more importantly, if you believe you can do better, then you absolutely should take it again.

Nobody here can tell you what's good enough -- the Class Profiles give you some insight, but frankly a lot depends upon what others in your competitive pool do. If you think you can do better-- go for it, but sooner or later you will reach a point of diminishing return in chasing better ACT/SAT scores.

Send both (SAT and ACT) scores.

You should send both. USNA is probably the only school that superstores across ACT and SAT. Meaning, you can take your English score of from ACT, and Math score from SAT.

So, based on your scores above, you're super score is:
English 34 (ACT), which converts to approx. SAT 750-760
and Math 740 (SAT).

Both of those are well above the 75% percentile. If you think you can do better, then by all means do. But the scores you have right now are outstanding.

USNA is my first choice but I'm also applying for usafa and usma. Does the superscoring over sat and act apply for those two academies?

Send in both. They will super score across both tests and will calibrate to SAT standard. Although you will not see this. But you will see it from NROTC. Your ACT English is clearly stronger. But your ACT Math is weaker. That’s because ACT Math is more difficult. If I were to calibrate your both scores into SAT, it would be around SAT 740 English 740 Math. Good job! USNA and NROTC and USCGA only count your ACT English and Math. If I were you I would give it one more go on ACT to bring the Math to 33-34. That will give you within 1500 on SAT and 34 on ACT for the Navy. Good luck!
