My DS had been waiting on an appointment from USNA and today in the mail came an appointment to NAPS. So they must be sending stuff out still. Still waiting on the USMA for appointment also.

New to the forum ... VERY anxiously awaiting DS USNA appointment.
Noticing the last 10 or so additions to the list have appointment dates only as recent as about 3/14 ... so a couple of questions to all you more experienced folks are as follows. Is there typically a couple of week lag between the appointment date and the arrival in the mail? Does the appointment typically arrive via USPS mail or overnight? And does the nominating MOC typically call first?
 
USNA tells your MOC first and gives him/her a week to call you. Some do, some don't. During that week, they mail your BFE via USPS. The time from when they decide until you receive the BFE is about a week.

I called my DS MOC and they said that they haven't heard anything from USNA yet, and my DS talked with his BGO and he said he hasnt had anybody from district receive appointment yet. So I guess there is still hope. We are from TX-12. As they say no news is good news, but the wait is killing us.
 
It looks like there are some districts that have two appointees but were notified at different times. How could that happen? Don't they make the decision on each slate at once?

Usually not. One person will be given that MOC's nom and the rest either go into the National Pool or might be slotted to another source for which they have a nom (e.g., President, another MOC). This is especially true, if the MOC uses a principal nom. Thus, multiple candidates off the same slate may receive appointments at different times.
 
My MOC has also told me that no decisions has been made on his slate either. It must be because Im in Oregon.

Good luck to you! At this point I wish they would tell us one way or another. Because my DS has been accepted to USMMA and NROTC to Texas A&M.

Our DS is in TX-21. One from our district has been accepted but from different MOC (congressional) ours is Senator. Our BGO is still optimistic. Looks like those of us who ended up in the National Pool have really been pushed to the back of the line to be notified in the next two weeks...

Our DS has accepted NROTC to Texas A&M as well :smile:

Big Batch of 2017 Appointments on the Way

I heard from a very reliable source at the USNA that the Admissions Office mailed out the big batch of BFEs and TWEs last Friday. That means today may be the day a lot of us have been waiting for!!

Aarrrggghhh! Mail came already today and no BFE or TWE for my DS. The wait is more agonizing every day.
