USNA Class of 2023 Do-It-Yourself Appointment Thread

Quick question, hopefully our new appointees can answer since I haven't dealt with this in 4 yrs: Does USNA send out the nice binder/appointment letter (what used to be BFE) to all appointees still, or do they wait and send them after an appointee has accepted their offer of appointment on CIS?
My son received a nice binder, with an appointment letter this year. It came about 6 weeks after notification in his portal. We weren't expecting it til Spring so it was a nice surprise. :)

No appointments from Massachusetts yet? What happens to the "declined" appointments. Does that open the door for others? Also, if the MOC nominations from our state can only have so many in the academy at once. Doesn't that make the odds less by state?
MA is historically slow. Senators don’t submit their slates until Jan 31st, and my congressman’s staff still hasn’t uploaded my nomination. Hurry up and wait!

Feel your pain in VA - same time line.

I am from CA and my MOC has not sent in my nomination to the academies (it does not show on my portal). They said they would the second week of January though! I have only heard back from one Senator as well.

Good luck to you! I interviewed with both of my MA senators and they upload noms on January 31st. Lots of waiting!

Waiting is definitely the worst part! Good luck to you too!

Waiting for mine too :)

I was wondering with the 23 that have responded with receiving an appointment how many females in this group? I answered for my DD but for those that answered 'self' was wondering the ratio? Thanks!

For the Selfs, try looking at their SAF profile and seeing if they have selected a gender choice.

No I live in VA, but I hope u get it. You go girl! Chase your dreams!! I wish you the best. Just keep your head up :spacecraft::tank1::tank: and don’t stress

Thank so much girl!!! I wish you all the luck as well in your future endeavors. Honestly I needed that boost of confidence. So is Sargent your last name? That's so interesting. Imagine if you become a sergeant someday teeheehee :)

Yes it is! Also that is a completely ridiculous thought that I’m going to need you to purgue your mind if immediately...thank you! I will NOT be a Sargent

@anlee , which senator did you hear from Harris or Feinstein? We are from CA as well and my DS heard only from Feinstein.
Received denial from Feinstein today [emoji20]
I received my Feinstein denial from CA 1/8/19 and no word from Harris accept the self-addressed postcard as a receipt that she received it.
I received my Congressional Nomination from Mr. Mark Takano, my MOC in mid-December.
