USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Add this to the tea leaves….As all you CPR’s are ‘waiting and speculating’, my DS (college re-app ~ ‘27 Naps waitlist TWE) is still waiting for college transcript box to be checked. Admissions has confirmed verbally and through email the transcripts have been received. To add an additional leaf, he is the principal. We went the distance last year ….. all they way into June, so this is nothing knowing he is doing amazing at his plan B. Have to admit last year ~ Senior year was emotionally exhausting.

While I hate that so many are in limbo, it is quite comforting to know that you are not the lone one waiting for an answer! Especially with several waiting that should not be fearing TWE at all .. feels like there are lots of appointments still to be handed out! Looks like USMA is seeing some movement, hopefully USNA will get some before the end of the week!! Good night and good luck USNA hopeful fam!

Same here with the college transcripts I’m in the same boat…. It sucks but same here it was confirmed in writing for me as well. I’ve seen a lot of college apps have the same problem. Hoping we all hear soon, and glad to hear your DS is doing well at his plan B!!

same happened to me, admissions told me they saw my transcript in my file but it has still been unchecked for weeks

Are you direct HS appointee with some college courses? Sorry just confuse because in the self updating appointment thread, you indicated Direct and then this message.

So sorry about any confusion… no I graduated HS last May with my associate of science…. I was also taking college courses this year as well while I was applying. So I had to send both my HS and college transcripts in. I got an appointment to coast guard and airforce, but still waiting on USNA, and that of course is the one where my college transcripts don’t show up 😑

I was lucky to be able to attend BGO training in person this past summer on the Yard. A very well designed, thoughtful, complete and in depth training.
Staying in Bancroft was an added layer of experience, and having fun with fellow BGOs in training or those with many years of experience was awesome. Some grads, some active duty. Some paying it forward as parents as I am hoping to do.
I have always thought of the modern day USNA appointment office as a machine. A bunch of super computers fine tuning data and algorithms.
That may be partly true. But the lengths to which these human beings go to make sure every candidate is evaluated and considered is incredible.
The human component is there and present. For me, that makes waiting longer worth it. They do take every thing into account as they try to build the class each year.
Are there too many qualified stellar candidates? Yes.
Do I wish there were more seats at the table? Sure. Of course.
I just had my first candidate turned down. That will be a difficult conversation.

The admission staff knows you are all anxious and waiting and have hopes and dreams tied to this. They appreciate and respect that. That much was evident during BGO training.

Thanks for clarifying. My understanding is that Direct Appointment are current HS senior. I maybe wrong.

You are correct. If you are a first time applicant and appointed, then you are a direct. Congratulations
