My dad suggested that maybe they want me to go through the MOC process to see if I get a nomination so that they have options for how to charge appointments
ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS -- apply for all nominations you are eligible for.100% apply to all nomination sources available to you regardless of LOA.
When did she receive it? How is the nomination pending? What district?Daughter received an USNA LOA . Nomination pending earlier this week.
(New poster but have been reading and learning for a while)
The process is a mystery. And the answers to your questions are meaningless to your process. When did she receive it? How is the nomination pending? What district?
(sorry for so many questions. This process is a mystery to all.)
I am writing this post because I was notified by my Congressional Office that I will be getting nominated on Monday. They informed me that I will have to be “registered“ through each academy to be able to receive the nomination. Does that mean I have to be medically qualified? Completed my CFA? I currently don’t have any of the 4 applications completed entirely and I am now hoping I don’t lose my Congressional Nomination because of it. Any guidance would be helpful. Do I need a completed application to be considered “registered“? Thanks A1 Janitor. In a scramble. The process is a mystery. And the answers to your questions are meaningless to your process.
Focus on your application. 90% of midshipmen don’t get them.

She has not received a nomination as of yet. (She has interviews in the next couple of weeks)
I am not in a position to give educated advice but having a complete application allowed for early review. Her case was reviewed within 10 days of completing her application
Congrats to @vijaysub's DD and @jackbeedle!I completed the interview two weeks ago Saturday. Received word that next Thursday.
What do the academies consider a “registered” applicant?Congrats to @vijaysub's DD and @jackbeedle!
It sounds like being an official "candidate", at least with USNA. You do this one of two ways: 1. if you applied for the Summer Seminar last year you are a "Candidate". 2. Complete a "Preliminary Application", which is a short online process through USNA website. You will have to peddle fast to get your application completed by the deadline (1/31/24 for USNA). Candidates have an account online and a candidate number from USNA Admissions. Not sure about how it works for the other SA's.What do the academies consider a “registered” applicant?
I have no idea, but I assume that it would mean having an application open and on file. You should contact the admissions offices at each SA.What do the academies consider a “registered” applicant?
