USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

I’m a mom of a SA hopeful, wondering if there are any other Alaskans here? I’ve been following this and other “watching and waiting” threads to help ease the pain of the waiting game. So excited for/proud of all of you who have received appointments!

We have an Alaskan in the class of 2028 group chat! He received his appointment recently.

Are plebes (or mids in general) allowed to go running off campus even if they aren’t part of the XC/track/triathlon/marathon teams? Would love to be able to get off the yard if I don’t end up doing one of those sports and get appointed.

Let’s hope it’s the USNA portal as that’s the only one that really matters!

One declared Arizona appointee on the BLB page so far.

There are prescribed routes off Yard that you can run. No deviations permitted.

Don’t forget about 250ish of the outstanding appointments yet to be offered are earmarked for NAPS, foundation, and direct-from-fleet (usually those smart nukes!) kids.

Secretary of Navy!

Who are these appointees usually get noms from?

The kids at NAPS and the fleet get a nom from the Secretary of the Navy. However, they also have to apply for nominations from their senators and congressman.

Foundation kids have to apply for a nomination from their senators and congressman.
