After accepting the waitlist and emailing the admissions office, did you all get an email back confirming that you would remain on the waitlist?

Above is from appointment thread. So, one declined from IL-11, and two are now on waitlist from IL-11. I'm guessing here, but maybe USNA waiting to hear from whoever replaced "karebear".

I may be wrong, but I dont believe it works that way. USNA sends out more appointments than their target class size because they know some will decline. For instance, if their target class size is 1100, they send out 1300 appointments; only when the number of accepted appointments drops below 1100 do they start drawing from the wait list. I am not sure if nominations or districts matter at this point, could someone shed some light?
