A little background: (Applying to USAFA) In 2022, I intermittently trialed Vyvanse for attention issues. My last dose was Aug 11, 2022. This is over the 15 months required. I was never diagnosed with adhd or any disorder, I just trialed it. After stopping, my doctor determined that the issues were likely due to puberty and the stress of virtual learning during COVID. I have never had any specialized education plan or any learning exceptions. I have always been (and still am after stopping medication) a 4.0 student, I am well involved in extra-curriculars, and I am in the top 10% of my class. Last year, I took five AP classes, and this year four, and I did well in all. I think my academics would show that I do not have any learning disorder or issues. In addition, I had a neurologist give me an evaluation in which they stated that they do not believe I have or have ever had any learning disorder, attention disorder, and the problems I had were due to the stress of COVID and puberty. On Nov 22, 2023, I was DQ'ed for "Miscellaneous condition of the nervous system history of encephalopathy, poorly characterized" (D212.55). The neurologist also stated that they don't believe this is accurate. On Nov 24, 2023, a waiver was requested by admissions on my behalf. Since then, I have received no requests for AMI, and I have heard nothing else from admissions or DODMERB. I reached out to admissions to no avail. Is there a chance of me getting this waiver, or is it a lost cause? If so, when should I expect to hear back?
