Now that my New Cadet is safely off at West Point, I have time to think of the things that I want to get done that haven't been done yet.
One is - what to do with his appointment. Of course, we want to display it proudly, so I was thinking about framing it along with his nominations. Would frame the waiver too but only got a verbal not an actual letter. Thought I might wait and get his plebe portrait to frame along with it too. But then again, the appointment came in such a pretty leather folder that I almost hate to take it out. As you can see, my thoughts are jumbled so just wanted to know what others are doing.
Hope ya'll are holding up well! I just now brought myself to walk into sons room and we've been home 3 days!

Don't frame it. Seriously. Wait until your son gets his diploma/commissioning certificate from WP. THAT is worth framing.

As for the appointment certificate, put it wherever you store memorabilia. It may be fun to look at 20 yrs from now. But, starting on R-Day(? - first day for plebes; not sure what it's called at USMA), the ONLY important thing now is graduation.

I would agree.

I have my rejection letters from:

USAFA, USNA, USMA, USCGA all in a big envelope.

I have my appointment certificates from:

USAFA, USNA, USMA all in a BIGGER envelope!!!

But on the wall of my office/den...

Hangs my diploma from USAFA!!!:thumb:
