Yes, but those pop tarts are still around.Except they did away with shaved ham, which changed the entire menu, practically.
DD got her class of 2020 turn down Feb. 21, as the days tick by she is losing hope. There have already been many more re-app appointments listed this year, I think last year there was a total of 4 on the list.DS got his turndown for the Class of 2020 March 15, 2016 along with a significant wave of TWEs. He's getting a little nervous now that it's March 6.
Everyone stay positive and remember till u get notice you are CPR and still in the game. My DS is also worried, but I tell him the same thing. To me a CPR is i'm still thinking about it!!!
Side question about TWE's: Since last year my TWE was very late (April 15), does that mean I was close to getting an offer? Or does the timeframe of TWE send-outs not matter?
I agree 100%. It looks like we are about to hit a critical week or two. I hope most of us will have some clarity over next 2 weeks and should it be bad news, it will get us transitioning onto USNA 2022 thread!Last year, my DS got a phone call from our congressman on Friday, March 11, and his appointment showed up on the portal about a week later. As I recall, there was something of a "wave" of appointments during that time frame. So, if I had to guess, we are approaching that same time frame at the end of this week. Of course, things unfold a little differently from year to year, so there is no assurance that this will be the case. Additionally, if there is a wave over the next week and you emerge on the other side still CPR, this doesn't mean you're out of the running. At that point, there will still be another month until April 15, and many receive appointments in the final days.
Our hearts stopped for a couple of minutes - we received a TWE with a D.O.N. (Department of the Navy) return address and a Navy logo visible through the envelope... luckily it was just a standard recruiting flyer with a prepaid post card to return to obtain more information about Navy careers.
... we will now return to back to our normal program of waiting for a phone call from our MOC...
If DS receives one of those recruitment letters I think he and I will need CPR! Good luck to everyone still in the waiting game. This time every year I believe the USNA mail room staff snickers away while stuffing these recruiting fliers in the mail, knowing full well what they are doing to the coronary health of both candidates and their parents!
