I just heard on good authority that USMMA is admitting a larger than usual class for 2022--over 300, including over 70 women. The reasoning is because the school is going to be cracking down on overweight mids. Word is that if you show up for Indoc outside of height-weight standards and cannot pass the tape test, then you are at risk of being sent home.
They have a growing number of current mids who are over standards. At least 2 upperclassmen have been disenrolled lately for this issue, even though they have been given multiple opportunities for remediation.
There are many ways to be disenrolled from KP that are out of your control. The academics are very tough for most people. One thing you do have control over is meeting the height-weight standards when you report. It would be very unfortunate to test this new policy and be disenrolled before you even get started, especially with so many great candidates being denied admission. If you are over the limit or pushing the limit, take action now, and you will have one less thing to worry about. Good luck to all.
