wyo uniforms classless?

I guess "scoutpilot" also thinks the Geneva Convention should be thrown out too, after all it is war.

Holy incongruous argument, Batman! Good one "texasrocks" (not sure why we're using quotation marks, but when in Rome...)

To all the parents nervously wringing their hands and angrily gnashing their teeth: WE GET IT. You think this Wyoming player is the antichrist, and he clearly plotted to injure the Air Force kid from the get-go. Heck you can probably see his eyes glowing red before the kickoff.

Is it penalizable? Yes, especially because the NCAA removed "intentional" from the rule.

Did he intend to hurt the AF kid? I doubt it, and we certainly have no evidence that he did. He didn't have a blind side advantage. He didn't launch himself. He hit him high and included a forearm. He came at him from the front. And they collided. That's football.

Is it worth people on here acting as though their worlds are ending because a kid got his bell rung? Is it worth calling their coach a "commie"? Or vilifying a competitor? No. This thread has been ridiculous from the get go. Don't watch a barbaric, full-contact sport and be shocked and outraged by hard collisions, and don't gripe about a band somehow offending your sense that everyone should stand in reverence of the SAs at all times. Don't turn honest mistakes into witch hunts. And don't be mad when someone points out how childish this whole issue is.

You forgot one...

"Don't dismiss the one legitimate concern because it's surrounded by silly ones."

For the record, I agree with you that most of them were silly. However, in terms of the hit, the kid was over zealous in the heat of battle and made an illegal tackle. It happens. The governing body caught it as they should have and slapped him enough to remember next time. Appropriate outcome.

Not sure why you couldn't separate that out from the chaff. And not sure why some saw an evil plot.

I must've missed all the even-handed concerns about the hit that didn't call him a punk, claim he deserved a worse punishment, or decry his acts as purposeful.

My involvement if football is deeper than just as a mom. Leave it at that. But all the coaching these days is 'eyes on your hit' meaning your head is up, avoiding any helmet to helmet. I do not know how Wyoming is coached. If you watch the replay, the Wyoming player blasted through the defender, with his head up. He lowered his head when he began the play on the AF ball carrier. And he made no effort to avoid the helmet contact, meaning he 'went high'. Thus, purposeful. If the Wyoming player was an NFL player, not only would there be a suspension, there would most likely be a 4 plus digit fine. The best way to stop this behavior is to hit the bottom line.

As to the rule changes, sissifying the game, that is for another discussion. You might be surprised what this 'hand-wringing' parent thinks.

And, Diet Pepsi

I love when people hint at expertise and then shy away from defining it.

You're making a conclusion and then interpreting the data to fit it

Coke is the top selling soft drink, followed by Diet Coke, and then Pepsi. The world has spoken... Coke.

Love it when you go to a restaurant and order Diet Coke and they ask if Diet Pepsi is OK.
Umm - No!

Although - now that we hear that aspartame will kill you, I am drinking more Stevia sweetened soft drinks like Zevia.

A good porter will avoid this problem.
