2012 USAFA Summer Seminar Students

First of all, congratulations! Great work! I think its odd, though, how there is seemingly no correlation between the submit date and the acceptance date :D. I'm very curious to know why, I think I'll have to ask Admissions later in the year about the Summer Seminar deal :shake: But truly my friend, great work! I submitted on December 31st and am anxiously waiting! My computer is set up to alert me whenever I get a new email. I get all excited when I have [1 New Message], and then check to see if its from the USAFA! :yllol: Anyways, great job! :thumb:

Yeah that is rather odd, I submitted mine december 15th and haven't heard anything yet. I think a lot of it has to do with whether or not your ALO has time to handle it. I know now must be a busy time for them dealing with 2016 applicants, so we can only sit and wait. But I did the same thing with my email and I hate it when I see the [1 New Message] and get all exited then when I open it, it turns out to be one of those random college information emails. :bang:

Well I may be Love the Navy, but today I love the Airforce too!!! My DD was accepted into the summer seminar and my husband and I are now facing the reality that we may have a daughter at Airforce, and DS who is currently a youngster at USNA. Of course, I don't want to put the cart before the horse. Still a long way to go to get an appointment. So far, my son hasn't said anything too out of line to his sister about all this. I know he wants her to go Navy:shake: So, now I will have a lot of questions about the Airforce. Maybe Pima and Bullet can help me out!

Yea I think you may be right! It is rather odd! But yes, I think we can all agree that the ALO's as well as the Admissions staff are all quite busy. The [1 New Message] thing isn't just me then, huh? Haha! Don't worry my friend, I'm sure you'll be fine. Best of luck to you!

Congratulations to you and your daughter! Despite the fact that my father (Army) is now stationed at a Naval base, where I now reside, does not quench my Air Force thirst! I love the Navy as well though, don't get me wrong. Congratulations though!

Congratulations!!! I'm attending Session C too, but I also applied to USNA summer seminar. Although that's a tough decision to make, regardless you are going to have a wonderful experience because I have friends who attended either one and they have all come back with great stories to share!

I found out I got in today too !!! :D ...congratulations to all you others who also got accepted. I'm Ryan (seems like that's the most common name on this forum)...from NH, probably attending session C! cya there

Quick question for you all - I can't do Session A due to the fact that I'm still in school and I'll have to take finals. Have any of you had success/know someone who was able to convince their school to let them take finals early to attend Session A?
Just wondering - and my name is Shiv (pronounced Sh - iv) from Chicago,IL !!

I've never heard of that... But hey it's worth a try! Am i Right? You're school could possibly do it. Is it not possible to go to any other session?

Our schools are in session through late June each year, and so my son had to miss a week of school last year for Summer Seminar as well as the last week of finals to attend Boys State--he had the complete support of the school and his teachers because he kept them informed throughout the spring and they all made arrangements to move finals to accommodate his schedule. My advice is to let your teachers know well in advance as well and also to keep your guidance counselor/principal aware as well. They couldn't have been more supportive or cooperative!

I applied for Air Force academy summer seminar on January 2, i know, like 4 weeks after it opened.

But i was astonished at the speed they processed the application as I received and email today that said I'm accepted. I haven't picked a session yet though because I'm going to wait to see when some of my friends from USNA Stem are going

I just recieved my e-mail that I was accepted to Summer Seminar. I'm from Mobile, Alabama and will be attending Session A.

My name is Chad and I am from Kansas and I will be attending Session C.

Sweet, I just got my acceptance letter today! But, I'm probably attending Session A... wanted C but there was a scheduling conflict :(
