2018 CGA Waitlist

I am regular admissions. I called my admissions officer today and was notified that I had been waitlisted, which she said was unusual for a regular admissions applicant. She also said that I did not need to accept my spot nor did I need to send an updated transcript as mine is up to date. I applied three days before the USCGA deadline this year.

I think that is kind of good news. As the slots come open, hopefully they will review your application with the wait list board.
 
Congrats and welcome to the club! Seems there are about 150 on the list. Hoping for the best. DS moving forward with Plan A-3 but will be physically and mentally ready for a last minute R day call. Best wishes to the candidates that are still waiting!
 
DS was also notified he was placed on the USCGA waitlist Friday. We feel hopeful and he is excited for a potential appointment-even if it comes last minute. :thumb:

Anyone know the stats yet for class of 2018? How many cadets have been appointed? How many from the waitlist will be/have been offered? Is class completely full?

Any help with these would be greatly appreciated.
 
I recently declined my appointment to USCGA in favor of West Point. So I hope the appointment will go to someone who truly wishes to attend.
 
DS received an e-mail today stating there were spots available and asked if he was still interested. Keeping our fingers crossed over here!

Our DS also recieved that same email. He has already replied back that he is probably going to accept after thinking about it. What are the chances that there is actually going to be a spot for him and how many spots are still open? How many were on the waitlist?

My DS got an email stating that they would be making phone calls next week!
Amazing energy headed to all of our DS and DD's who desire to serve such a
noble and dignified institution!

Yes...everyone on the wait list received the notification that vacancies exist in the Class of 2018, so a wait list review board will be held tomorrow.
