Recent reports and coaching is that recycle rate is normally fairly high anyway in Patrols for candidates not straight out of IBOLC. They apparently cover the material in RTAC (Pre-ranger), but not to the same extent. One of the few areas that the butterbars in the group have a little edge. Conjecture is that most (all?) of the 8 are officers, so you'd think they'd have some OPORD experience though.
Buddy of DS did the RTAC-Ranger before IBOLC thing some USMA grads are being offered, and it took him right at 5 mths to tab. And was never for fitness or medical, etc. Don't know if he was a day 1 restart or not. (Some will tell you failing patrols twice is automatic day 1 restart, others will quote examples of 3 darby recycles) There are debates on whether the risk of not having IBOLC offsets dodging the winter classes that USMA grads normally see.
Current reports are also that Darby recycles usually do well 2nd time through as they know the drill/expectations, are better rested, and know exactly what got them previously.
I expect the 8 Females will recycle as needed unless medical drop, etc. Would be very surprised to see a "Lack of Motivation" drop, or a honor drop, etc.
They will be leaving the spring weather sweet spot though. Not summer hot yet, but almost there. I can't remember if it's 1 or 2 heat related drops that result in "Never to Return in Hot Weather". And then there are classes 3 & 4 with much lower pass rates due to cold weather based on recent RTB data.
