Yes, yes, there are many instances of the Concept of Ethical Elasticity and Generous Interpretation. You mean like having yard libs, taking a sailboat out (allowed during yard libs) and meeting friends out on the water for whatever
or even sailing to a friend or sponsor's house for lunch. . .
During severe weather, is your schedule altered (walking to classes/lunch/dinner/fitness training)? As appointments start to roll out and preparations start to be made, let me know if you have any questions! I did NROTC before coming to the academy and can answer questions about that if needed. It also took me three times to get into the academy so I implore those who do not get in to continue applying because it has been well worth the effort.

Ready?
During your Plebe sumner, did anyone had a birthday? My DD birthday is about 2 weeks before the end of plebe summer. I’m not in any way expecting to see her but we are just curious of what happens then
On the same celebrations topic. 4th of July did you hv some festive things scheduled?
Rain gear, do you get rain shoes/boots, rain jacket/poncho/parka, umbrella or should you pack your own.
Toiletteries, comb, brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, sunblock, body lotion, saline solution (contact lenses) body glide, anything else you should bring?
I understand plebe sumner is 100% uniform but, did you packed some regular clothes or Did your parents bring you civilian clothes when they came back for parents weekend (jeans, tshirts, sneakers)
I read somewhere to make sure you have your wallet with you and no to turn it in at the beginning of plebe summer, did you have it in your pocket a smaller backpack? Otherwise you’ll hv no cash
Can you hv snacks (granola bars) in your dorm, what about multivitamins?
Is it true that some plebes rent storage for overflow because the storage in the room is just enough for the necessary
Finally what do you wish you had brought from home
I’m sure I have more questions lol but that is plenty for now
What do you do during the watch? How long does the watch go for?Yes we have multiple watches and depending on what year you are you will stand different watches.
Room has enough stuff for everything issued and necessities. Mids can and do rent storage for extras TV's, couches, speakers, etc., especially to store over the summer (when you're kicked out of the room, and--depending on the Dant and depending on the area of Bancroft--can't store anything in company spaces). Plebes aren't usually owners of TVs, couches, and full blown sound systems, so they don't really need it. Sports/ECA equipment can usually just go in the various spaces teams and ECAs own in and out of Bancroft. Is it true that some plebes rent storage for overflow because the storage in the room is just enough for the necessary
Extra pushups for your company mates! My birthday will be right at the beginning of plebe summer...
1.) not cool but my son is Army and he was laughingHi, I am jumping in here as a current Plebe parent to answer some of your questions.
1.) Our current Plebe had a Birthday during Plebe Summer and the Detailers made his Company do extra push-ups to “celebrate”…
2.) First thing out of our Plebe’s mouth when we saw him after the oath ceremony was “Mom, I could have just showed up naked with only my paperwork in hand because they supplied us with everything necessary and more!” Yes, body glide was issued to them…
3.) Even though your Plebe will get 2 new pairs of tennis shoes issued (Brooks is what they gave ours) I would still recommend you buy your Plebe 2 pair of quality running shoes in BRIGHT colors! Buying BRIGHT colored ones will help you spot your Plebe in all of the find Waldo photos. When I would view the Plebe Summer photos I would scan all of the tennis shoes first and could spot our Plebe every time
I took our Plebe to our local running store to get fitted properly. Make sure your soon to be Plebe breaks in both pairs…
4.) They did have Fireworks for the Plebe’s to enjoy on the evening of the 4th…not sure if they had additional festivities though?
5.) They let our Plebe keep everything in his backpack/wallet, except for his cell phone. They did allow them a few trips to the MID Store during Plebe Summer. It does say in the paperwork to bring cash but they would not allow them to use cash at the MID Store. Luckily we sent him with his debit card so he bought what he needed.
6.) Not sure if they supplied saline solution for contact lenses? I think Plebes who routinely wear contact lenses must wear eye glasses over Plebe summer.
7.) Not sure about the storage situation. Our Plebe hasn’t mentioned it.
8.) Yes, they can have snacks and vitamins (no caffeine, no stimulants, etc…). We mailed items over Plebe summer several times and sent extras for him to share with others.
9.) They are not allowed to wear civilian clothes Plebe year.
10.) I don’t remember about the rain gear.
Hope this helps!
I’ll remember and will be singing happy birthday to you. Seriously! Come back and let us know how that wentMy birthday will be right at the beginning of plebe summer...
I noted the Bible comment and good for her. There are lots of good bible apps. With reading plans etc. just a thought to save that weight and space. At least for the summer maybe.1.) not cool but my son is Army and he was laughing
2.) that’s a great way to explain it. We are BIG on Body Glide lol
3.) this is the best piece of advise. She’s been fitted for running shoes and wears a certain type, so noted!
4.) great
5.) do you remember what he has in backpack? I knew about cellphone, she’ll probably bring her wallet, Bible and journal.
6.) 7.) 8.) 9.) ok got it
Thank you very much!
Thank you. We live in Florida and when it rains it feels like the Noah’s Arc great flood is happening again, Got it about the storage. Makes sense. Thank youPlebes are issued rain gear that is the same as everyone else. . . its another uniform.
Plebes really can't use a storage unit during plebe year as they rarely get "out" and generally lack a means of transporting stuff. They do have enough storage in their rooms for the stuff that is issued and what they need for the academic year.
These questions pop up every year as I-Day gets closer. There are pages of advice every year.1.) not cool but my son is Army and he was laughing

Makes sense, during the summer maybe she can bring everything back home with her and then take it back. Which rises another question. My son is in the Army and he can fly with as many bags as he wants free of charges. Is this true for the Academy kids?Room has enough stuff for everything issued and necessities. Mids can and do rent storage for extras TV's, couches, speakers, etc., especially to store over the summer (when you're kicked out of the room, and--depending on the Dant and depending on the area of Bancroft--can't store anything in company spaces). They will have limited access to phone over PS. It will be returned to them for scheduled calls home.I noted the Bible comment and good for her. There are lots of good bible apps. With reading plans etc. just a thought to save that weight and space. At least for the summer maybe.
Or…. “It’s my birthday. What are we doin’ today?!”Probably not a good idea to ask: "where's my birthday cake?".
