DODMERB kyphosis waiver process- advice needed!

Hello all, I am planning on attending CU Boulder on a 4 year AROTC scholarship starting this coming fall. I am currently in the remedial process for 58 degree, pain-free kyphosis. I talked to DoDMERB yesterday and they said that there is no chance the waiver will be reviewed/granted by the time...

    Waiver possible?

I'm in a very similar position. I have a 58 degree kyphosis and 55 degrees is the normal cut off for medical qualification. I am currently in the waiver process and the AROTC applicant portal says that it can take up to 3 months to get a decision by their waiver review board.

    DoDMERB kyphosis waiver

Hello, My name is Christian Fin and I am a 4 year AROTC scholarship recipient. I am supposed to go in for remedial testing to determine the Cobb angle of my kyphosis that I was first diagnosed with two years ago. My own doctor evaluated my angle to 58 degrees, and I think the standard for...

    swapping ROTC branches

Hello all, I'm planning on attending CU Boulder next fall on an AROTC scholarship. I know that the first year of scholarship benefits do not result in a service commitment, meaning I can leave the program penalty free before the start of my sophomore year. I also know that NROTC offers 3 year...

    AROTC+AFROTC

Hi all, So I have been accepted for ROTC scholarships from both the Air Force and the Army. I am not totally sure which one I want to do. I would use my AF scholarship at Oregon State U. and I would use my Army scholarship at CU Boulder. I know that in the short term I can accept both...

    AROTC 5th year of benefits

Hi all, I was accepted for a 4 year AROTC scholarship for CU Boulder. I am planning to double major in Aerospace Engineering and Computer Science. The way the course sequences shake out, I would need a fifth year of school to complete both majors. During my PMS interview, my interviewer...

    AFROTC Technical Major Choice

Well I think you might be in a tough spot. If your scholarship was offered as technical then you must pursue a technical degree. CU Boulder is one of those schools with very rigidly separated schools. You needed to apply to the school of engineering during your application process and get...

    Chances of AROTC Scholarship?

I got accepted for a 4 year AROTC scholarship this year with 3.4 GPA (full AP classes) and 35 on the ACT. You have already got far more extracurriculars than I did and you are still only a sophomore. If you can push the grades up some more, have a solid showing on the SAT/ACT and get into some...

    Scheuermann's syndrome

@GoCubbies Alright, thank you. I do not think I am at 50 degrees Cobb angle and as I said I have never experienced any sort of pain or discomfort. It was only after x-rays that any doctors actually noticed it. No standard check up even noticed any abnormal posture. I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

    AFROTC pilot slots

Hi all, I just got accepted for a 4 year type 7 AFROTC scholarship. I am now deciding between AFROTC and AROTC, where I also have a 4 year scholarship. More than anything I want to be a pilot. From the research I have done so far AF is the way to go for that. I know I have to perform well in...

    Scheuermann's syndrome

Well that's the thing. Cobb angles are so subjective that doctors can come to totally different conclusions. I would have to check my records to see what exact number the orthopedist gave me, but he did say that another doctor might measure it completely differently. What is the cobb angle...

    Scheuermann's syndrome

Hi all, I have been accepted for a 4 year AROTC scholarship. I am currently going through the DODMERB process. A couple of years ago, I got a diagnosis for a Scheuermann's syndrome, a form of kyphosis. This means that I have a slight rounding in my upper spine, but it has never resulted in any...

    Accepting/Transferring AROTC scholarship

Hi all, Earlier this month I received a four year AROTC scholarship with Oregon State, Washington University and CU Boulder as the approved schools. The instructions told me to accept for the school that I most want to go to (WUSTL). This is definitely a tough school to get in to, and my...

    Chances for AFROTC

On my application I listed Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Meteorology as my major choices. In terms of my interview, I feel very confident about it, although my interviewer didn't give me any direct feedback. When I did my Army ROTC interview, the major said I was "One of the...

    Chances for AFROTC

Hi all, I was hoping for some insight for what my chances are for an AFROTC type 1 scholarship at the upcoming March board. I have a fairly unique academic profile and haven't been able to find another thread that really matches mine. Here are my stats: ACT: 35 SAT: 1480 GPA: 3.4 physical...
