    Nuke Draft for NROTC?

True, but the upscreen and down screen process really isn't that significant... my classmate was just below the upscreen threshold and I was just above it, both sent in SNA packages and he got nuke drafted, I didn't. They just use it to gather more info

    NROTC Submarine GPA

Yep! Well, I’m asking for my friend who is in my unit. I don’t want to go submarines, haha.

    NROTC Submarine GPA

Is there a minimum GPA requirement to be selected for submarines in NROTC? I have a 2.86 in tier 2, and am curious if i am disqualified. I asked my advisor, and he said he is not sure.

    EOD after NROTC

They are probably going to take 7 this year. You need to be running an 8:30, 100+ pushups and situps, 20 pull-ups, and an 8:30 swim. Gotta be comfortable in the pool too.

    Navy Vs USMC Aviation

Having a hard time choosing between Navy and USMC Aviation. Currently a 3/C. Could anyone answer a few of the questions I have? I know the basics like TBS, being a rifleman, culture etc. 1) who flies more? Do either the USMC/Navy pilots fly more than the other during flying tours(I know this...

NROTC Ranking Formula(SWO, Aviation, Service Assignment)

Does anyone know what the NROTC Ship Selection ranking formula looks like? I'm looking for an answer like 30% GPA, 30% Aptitude, 30% PRT , 10% Major(something like that, just trying to give an example). How is major tier weighted? Any help would be appreciated so much. If anyone knows how the...

New Student Indoctrination and unit arrival questions NROTC NSI

    1. When I went, I ended up spending about $10. They take all of the candidates to the NEX(navy exchange) and you have the option to buy toiletries. They just say $300 to be precautious. Everything your son will wear at NSI will be issued for keeps. He will not have to pay for the uniform items...

    NSI Packing List 2022

I went last summer. Didn't touch the supplies I brought, because everything I needed was issued. Last year was 4 weeks though, so it could be different. DM me for any questions about nrotc or NSI. Loving it right now

    NROTC Major Tier weight

Good Morning, does anyone know how each tier is weighted when it comes to commissioning score? I asked my company officer and he wasn’t much help. For example, would tier 1 get a multiplier, tier 2 stay the same, and tier 3 have a decreasing effect? If so, what are the specific weights on each...

    Running during summer cruise

Good Morning, I'm a 4/C Mid that just got my summer assignment for cortramid. I run cross country/track at my university, and I was curious as whether I will find time to train throughout the month on cruise? My biggest "concern" is marine week(which they are brining back this year)... for...

    Poor Grade

Congrats in the straight A's! Very Impressive. I'm in NROTC, and I told my company officer(cadre) about a C in calculus even though I have a 3.5. I'm not sure how your units environment is, but I would encourage letting them know

    Federalist Article by Former Cadet

Figured I’d play “devils advocate” a little because it seems that a lot of responses have the same nature. I Respect this women for her choice and seems like someone who would’ve made a great officer. Sad to see her go A lot of the the things she mentioned as “ostracization” seemed moreso like...

To reapply or not to reapply

4/C mid in NROTC here. Absolutely loving it. Great friends, great, small, close-knit unit. Doing a varsity sport, life's good. But I still have that itch. Not to leave NROTC, but the itch to go to the academy. I want to fly. I want to go to Pensacola really, really bad. I've heard that if you...

Intentionally Not Getting an EA for AFROTC

I don’t know anything, so take it worth a grain of salt. I feel like you’d be better off betting on yourself, getting EA for summer training, then working hard to earn that flight slot. Sometimes you have to prove to yourself that the only way is through, not around It’s not my life though, and...

    NROTC more strict than AROTC?

First, I would like to say that I mean this with the absolute highest respect. I just want to share my personal experience and see if it is experienced by others. Every branch of the military requires a great amount of dedication that I have no yet experienced. I am a 4/C midshipman, fresh out...
