2020 Hopefuls

Dad2020, sounds like an excellent candidate! Impressive resume. I hope he lands at USNA! Good luck to him.
 
Honestly, he is terrified. He is making back-up plans to his back-up plans. Everything is centered around USNA. He is applying for the NROTC scholarship and planning to apply again next year and hopes they offer NAPS to him if he doesn't get in. He is a driven kid, but he always has a plan. He hates to "prepare to lose" but he also knows how hard this road can be.

What an amazing kid. You must be proud of him. I am sure he will be a midship man. This is the kind of grad USNA and the other SAs are looking for.

Son has completed his app. Went to NASS. Went to CVW. Was invited to West Point and AFA summer, but we couldn't afford more than one, and West Point interfered with Boys State. He loves USNA. Stats: app done, dod med done and passed, BGO done, one MOC done. CFA Passed. Eagle Scout, #1 rank in class, 35/36 math/English on ACT. Letterman in two sports, wrestling and swimming. Dad2020, he sounds like an excellent candidate! You mentioned he had one Moc done. I'm curious what state you are from as well? I don't think our Moc's have begun interviewing yet.
 
I think he might of meant one of his kid's MOC 'packages' was completed and was sent in/uploaded?
 
Yes. That's all I meant. He has one MOC packet done and mailed. Applying to an academy is like applying to half a dozen colleges at the same time. No wonder so many people walk away from the process. It definitely takes a kid who will stick with it.

My dodmerb physical is next week and I just wanted to make sure that the only thing that I need to bring is my records.

Also, my MOC doesn't give out noms until November so I can only receive an LOA until I receive a nom, correct?

It took over a month for ours to post, but the submission date posted was the same date as the interview.
 
The submission date is the date of the interview, but that doesn't mean when it was actually submitted into the system. If it took a month, it was probably submitted a month after the fact. Interviews should post almost instantaneously after it is submitted to the system.
 
Got word back last week that DS was qualified by DoDMERB. Another step completed!!! Now for the waiting game - in full. MOC interviews in October/November, not much action will be happening til then. But its always fun getting on here and seeing other folks accomplishments. Good Luck everyone!
 
Anyone get a CVW invite yet? How do they come? Is there options for certain weekends candidates may attend? If so, does anyone know when? Thanks!
 
? CVW invite was like a month ago man (or woman don't wanna discriminate;)) so you're a little bit late asking this now...:bounce:
 
CVW invites come out in cycles...DS was invited in the winter last year via email, after he received his appointment. I believe you can also request one from Admissions, though I haven't verified that.
