2028 State Nominations Thread

I received a nomination from my congressman in Arkansas. Since Arkansas is not a competitive district, is just one congressional nomination good enough? I will hear back from the senators by tomorrow but I didn't know if one nomination would cut it in my area or not. Thank you!

Has anyone heard from the Senators in Maryland on nominations. Specifically Sen. Cardin's Office.
Our son heard from his Congressman and received a nomination to USMMA. He is still interested in USAFA and wondering if anyone has heard from Senators in MD. Specifically Senator Cardin.
Update, our son checked the USAFA Portal this am and received a nomination from Senator Cardin!

One nomination is all you need.

Congrats! I know you CA people have a LONG wait and it's so competitive. WOOHOO....happy for you!!!!
Thanks! Plus a lot of the parents I know started this process with us kids not knowing where AFA or Annapolis are My mother didn't even know the Naval Academy existed before I landed in Baltimore for NASS (she was panicking cause the USNA website was down that week). So thank you to all those hardworking moms and dads out there supporting us, we can all finally breathe!!!

Is anyone in this thread applying to USNA 28' from Arkansas? From what I've heard it is a very underrepresented state. I have not heard of many people applying from around my area so I was just curious. Also, it would be good to get to know people from around the area going into plebe summer.

What part of the state are you from? Our DD is from Eastern Ok, very close to the Arkansas state line.

I am from Russellville but go to school in Hot Springs. Therefore, I am in the west/southwest region of Arkansas.

Has anyone heard back from the Arkansas Senators yet? I got nominated for Westpoint from them but have not seen anything from USNA.

I was hoping to see something from you today @bahamamama Congratulations to your DD!!! :groupwave:

A nomination from Senator Cassidy posted to DS's USAFA and USMA portals yesterday. However, there is some variation on reporting times in each SA portal. Kennedy's nominations showed in DS's USAFA portal two days before it showed in USMA's portal.

For my future Louisiana applicants who are searching for any Louisiana specific breadcrumbs...

Senator Kennedy's nominations posted in DS's USAFA portal on January 27th and to the USMA portal on January 29th.

Senator Cassidy's nomination posted to DS's USAFA and USMA portals on January 30th.

Congressional Representative's nomination posted to USAFA and USMA portals January 31st.

So, if it's December and you're haunting this page... go enjoy Christmas and Epiphany and grab a piece of King Cake before you come back. :)

DS just saw WA61 show up in his portal (believe that is Sen Murray) - he already had one from our district, but fyi in case any WA hopefuls out there, received a call in Dec for the rep nom, but the sen just shows up in the portal - no email/call/etc. Good luck all…waiting and hoping.

There will still be 5 'charges' from each Senator and Representative. Lower populated states have fewer representatives so that can affect numbers of Mids. But it can be a good thing. It could be easier to get a nomination.
