I feel you. This process is a tough one. My DS only got an interview with Rubio and Local Dist 7 CM Mills and not even an interview with Scott. Blessed to get a nom from CM Mills and we are hoping to also get a JROTC nom. The more the better is my understanding. Am I clear in that your local MOC advised they will "work with Rubio" to avoid duplicate noms? That seems like a fair process and gives all a chance. In any case I wish you the best and hope a nom comes soon. The waiting is brutal.

Thanks! Yes, DS received a nom to 2 academies from Rep. Luna (dist 13). My sanity has returned for a couple of months . Congrats to your DS too. And yes, Rubio sent a response that because Luna was providing a nom, he would not be providing one to spread the wealth. We know that Scott & Rubio also compare lists too and will only even consider 1 academy. I don't think it's every district in Florida though. Maybe just the hot spots like ours with a base, private military high schools, many ROTC units, and lots of recruited athletes. I hope the Senators pick up the LOAs and recruited athletes to help more candidates in the Representative slates, since they can only receive 1 nom of the 3 for each academy - and in most cases, only 1 academy.

Congratulations! My DS didnt receive a nom from Warner but he did receive a nom from our congressman as an alternate for USMA and USAFA. Still on the game so still hopeful!! Glad Warner's team sent notification even to those who didnt receive noms. At least we are no longer wondering about it!

Have not heard anything from Senators, DS got a nomination from District 7 Congressman.

For what it’s worth, DD has heard nothing from Warner - though not expecting a nom, as she got two from Kaine.

My son also got nom from Kaine for USMA. Just wish Warner would notify us no matter getting or not.

My son received a letter from MOC Sessions- TX District 17 stating that they were nominating him as the 1st alternate to USAFA. 2 questions, 1. anyone else heard anything from Sessions, 2. can someone explain what the 1st alternate means? Will they show up in his portal as nomination received? Regardless, we are very excited to have received the letter.

"First Alternate" can mean one of two things and you'll have to do a little research to get the answer.

IF your MOC uses the "Principal, Nine Alternates" method of nominating, then your son is the first alternate AFTER the principal nominee. If your MOC uses a competitive slate but ranks them before submitting them, then USAFA will look at them in that order. So...Primary/Principal gets looked at first; if they're 3Q, etc...etc...they would get the offer. If not, then they look at the first alternate...etc.

Yes, my DS received an email with "Sending our regrets" as subject from academy_noms@warner.senate.gov last Dec 22. Check your spam/junk folder. He did receive noms from our congressman.
