AFROTC EA due date

I'm still skeptical as only one person made this confirmation. Looking at last year's thread multiple people made the confirmation that EAs would be released the next day. Since my commander's update on Tuesday my detachment has not received any other updates. Unless I myself get an email or multiple cadets have personal accounts that it's happening then I will continue to believe that EA's haven't been released yet.

Since I'm trying to convert from being a pessimist to being an optimist I've decided to retain my hope that USA's DS's detachment's cadre has got somebody on the inside.... :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake:

I'm actually rooting for the Air Force to prolong the EA results. If I don't make it then I will miss the dining out that's in a week. I cannot get a refund for it and since I ordered the steak dinner I really want to eat the steak before I would be kicked out.

Now that's funny.

Best of luck, hope you get that steak.

So does that make you an optimist or a pessimist ?

Personally if I don't get an EA I wouldn't mind. I know that the Air Force is in its leaner years and we are transitioning to a peacetime force. I am sure that we will be in another conflict and if the Air Force or Army begins to ask for a few good men and women to become officers I will surely take the call. There are other paths I would like to take in my life and I know the Air Force path is always closing and opening.

Now if I don't get an EA and be denied of my 25 dollar steak then I will be mad.

My son's Det just had their Dining Out this last weekend. It was steak too. Good times were had by all.

I am the same way. If I am fortunate enough to try next year, then so be it. If not, it was a learning experience and I appreciate the opportunity. The only difference is I would have to decide if I can afford to stay around another year. I'd have to pick up loans just to make the attempt, which I'd rather just enlist than do.

I think, if your commanders ranking comes through like you think it will, that you should have a good shot. Your stats and mine are similar. Except I am in the dark with my ranking lol

Still no word either, have LLAB this afternoon and the Col wants to see us FTP cadets afterwards, so maybe it's an update on something hopefully.

You will be updating SAF on your meeting with the Col...PLEASE....

I am new to this forum and also a 200 waiting to hear about an EA. Does anybody have any info on when we might find out the suspense is getting to me? My commander told us today that they are waiting on air staff to give them a number of slots to give out.

It is impossible to know when EAs will drop. There are a lot of issues the AF is trying to iron out before giving a final answer on how many officers they will need in FY16. The last thing you would want is for them to give too many slots and then have to cut a bunch after giving them out. Last year Cadets found out April 11th. I would expect to hear something around that time.

Sounds about right. Which det and university are y'all from? I'm from det 432 at Southern Miss

So you are going to one of those lucky cadets that is used to the climate at SFT. I think that little bit of an advantage will be useful depending upon what the actual weather will be this year. Not every cadet will be as comfortable with the humidity as those going to school in the south.
