AROTC Board 2

So, not to read too much into this, but DEFINITELY to read too much into this:

It seems like most winners changed to "Boarded" (not everyone though) around Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Most got emails or calls from their schools by then. Of course, this will most likely be delayed because of the holiday this Monday.

So, keep checking those portals, we're all SO close!

Are you basing this off the last board or from this board. I haven’t checked my status yet, but I haven’t heard of anyone being ‘boarded’ this week.

My status is still on "Board Ready" despite them already meeting (13th-17th). Is it possible they've added more days to meet? Should I contact someone? A man by the name of Christopher Dye guaranteed that I'd be under consideration this board, yet my status has not changed to even "Boarded/Under Consideration." Should I be worried that they didn't review my app?

Do you have a good relationship with the ROO at any school?

If so, that’s the person I would contact.

Your status may change over the next few days.

I know... the waiting and not knowing is brutal.

My ds did not have any communication from his school until after the results were out, and even then only one of the schools contacted him. Don’t worry if you don’t hear from your schools early.

Based on my understanding of the process. The ROOs and the schools are not supposed to make any contact with the winners until after they are officially notified by Cadet Command (portal). There was a ROO from Cornell that emailed the winners of the 1st Board prior to notification coming out. Hold tight and news will be out when it comes out.

Like @Jarhead713 , I don’t want to read to much into this, but I will. Is it possible that the the financial aid office (of choice school) will request tax forms and so forth the same week the board convenes?

You should be filling out the FAFSA which will require input from your tax forms. You can estimate based on last years taxes, if that makes sense, and then update it later. The colleges should be keying off the FAFSA, Most will not give financial aid without the FAFSA stuff. If a ROTC scholarship is awarded it will almost certainly change the financial aid received.

Yep I gave the FAFSA and CSS Profile back in October 2019. I applied Regular Decision and did not select Early Decision, as there were no Early Action option. So.... I guess I’m just wishful thinking?????
