AROTC Contracting Timeline

I am currently a freshman in college who won a 3-year national scholarship for Army ROTC, I have enjoyed my first year in the program and want to stick with it. That being said, I am still not contracted and I might not be able to contract for some time now because I just got some medical remedials, some that don't even really apply to me which means I will have to jump through some more hoops before I am contracted. What I was wondering is if there is a certain timeline or deadline that I need to be contracted by in order to start receiving the benefits from my scholarship. If anyone can help answer this it would be much appreciated since I can't seem to find any answers anywhere.

I believe I read....somewhere within the bowels of the internet....that you contract right before sophomore year, as a 3-AD. I would think that gives you all summer, to get the remedial squared away and documented, in time to sign the paperwork.
 
Welcome - the short answer is that you will contract and start receiving benefits once you fulfill the contracting requirements (DoDMERB, PFT...) There is a DoDMERB section to this forum that deals with medical issues. Follow the instructions from Mr. Mullen should you have specific questions related to your case. Questions about timeline are probably best directed to your cadre. @Montana State Army ROTC is a member who you could also reach out to. Good luck with contracting!
 
Best to check with your cadre, but in theory, you have until the end of your first semester sophomore year to contract and receive the scholarship benefit starting sophomore year. So, look to have everything taken care of by August, but you have a little leeway if that doesn't happen.
