Don't get too wound up. It was late March last year before most of the Class of 2015 got notified. Even then there were notices going out after April.
Amen sister! I'm in the *same* exact place as you... While it weighs heavy on my heart - I have not given up all hope and neither should you!
Thank you for letting us know this! This is very useful information.Last year when my daughter received the phone call from the MOC announcing her appointment, it was during the last week of March - her Spring Break! I think the majority of appointments came out then. Her current roommate didn't get appointed until May!
I take it you are in Sam Johnson's district as well? Our MOC has given out ten unranked USAFA nominations. I have discovered through his recent press release that two of them already have appointments as recruited athletes and two others are in the prep school. It looks like the window is closing for DS pretty quickly. I'm so nervous for him, I'm starting to lose sleep. Is it still possible for him to get an appointment in such a competitive area and with that many slots already used up?
Inhale...1...2...3..., Exhale...1...2...3..., again, Inhale...1...2...3..., Exhale...1...2...3...You get the picture.
Thanks for being there supporter/stalker friends!!

Zoomie, my understanding is that they will not necessarily use the MOC's allotment for recruited athletes - there is a separate pool of nominations they can typically use. Prep school does not count. So the MOC's nominee should not have been used yet. I also heard that the bulk of the appointments will start going out the last week of March, and that there will be spurts of activity as the Academy carefully doles out what are very precious appointments. It was so last year and it is even more so this year.
Thanks! Good luck to him! And yes, my plan is UT AFROTC or USMMA. I don't want to decided on USMMA until I hear back from USAFAYes...best to you! I know how difficult the wait must be for you. We will know the final outcome soon. DS backup plan is A&M ROTC.
What exactly is Falcon Prep?
Thank you, USAFAretired 1996! I went to the website and called for more information. The only thing that's been updated is that candidates applying to USAFA don't have to fill out an application to the Falcon Foundation. It's an automatic process. Their website now is http://falconfoundation.org/ if anyone wants more information.
Five prep schools are listed, but they also added Randolph Macon (VA), Kent (CT), and Graystone Shriner (TX). If you are a Falcon Scholarship recipient, you can choose the prep school based on cost and location. The scholarship is $5000.
My son is a Falcon this year at NMMI. Can't say enough good things about the program there or how grateful we are to the Falcon Foundation.
