A few months ago I had weed for the first time and did it twice because a friend had gotten an edible, but I haven’t had any since then and that was my only time trying it, no other drug use, and I’m 17, would that be considered experimental or is that disqualifying off the get go

It is experimental (not use, as you describe it) so you may be honest about 'trying' it and committing to not repeat your 'experiments' with any illegal drugs. One of my students placed himself in a bind by not being honest during the application process and then having to correct his statements when he reported -- all is fine now. I hope that helps.

BE HONEST. USAFA understands that applicants are young and make dumb decisions, and they can work with that. However, they will not tolerate dishonesty (and neither should you!).

Like everyone else has said, be honest. They will not care much and when you select yes in the portal I believe it will just make you write a short essay, in which I strongly recommend you explain that it was just the two occasions, and that you regret those decisions and will not be doing it again.

As the above state, be honest. It was experimental. Plus, you'll be asked this question again on future security apps. Will you just keep the lie going? Or, if you put "yes" they can come back to you for lying on your initial app.
