Hi all! I was wondering if a history of having an std is a disqualifying factor for DoDMERB... I'm trying to be 100% honest on the DoDMERB survey and paperwork. Is it a disqualifying factor if you somehow happen to have contracted an std in the past, but you're completely healthy now? What about substance use? Usually in medical forms you don't want to be checking off "yes" a lot, but this is stressing me out. As a high schooler, you make mistakes and experiment, but how does substance use and sexual health relate to DoDMERB? Are they some disqualifying factors and can I get them waivered? What is the process?
Thank you all! Any comments or advice or insights are appreciated.

In general, STIs that are fully cured and no complications (eg your entire genital area fell off 😬).

HIV is DQ, except in extremely rare circumstances.

Genital herpes that requires suppressive treatment is DQ.

Substance use (eg MJ) that is due to experimentation or youthful indiscretion is not DQ from the medical side.

If you have been diagnosed with substance-related disorder though, then that is a DQ.
