Hi all! Just trying to get some insights from those who Qualified from Dodmerb, DS checked his Dodmerb account this week and saw that his status changed to "qualified" for NROTC. What happens next? There is an attachment letter in Dodmerb stating he is qualified, is that it? Are we getting something in the mail about what the next step is? Should we contact his NROTC unit to let them know? DS also got his NSI schedule, he will be attending the first cycle, June 6- 24th.

You do nothing. It will be pulled from sources looking for that info. DODMERB is the centralized medial clearance for ROTC and SA programs.

Congrats!! Exciting times!!

Have your DS stay in shape and enjoy his Senior year. It sounds like he is all set. You'll pretty much just hear any updates from his unit from now on. Flights for NSI will be arranged at some point, but likely not until May or even June.

Thank you! After getting qualified by Dodmerb, it feels like we can relax a bit until NSI in June!

Yep, make good choices (can sometimes be a challenge senior year celebrations), no unnecessary risk taking, no injuries, keep grades up.

MY DD has been through the ringer trying to correct several errors made by the medical provider contracted with the DoDMERB. From data missing from the form to a vague eye diagnosis later found unfounded, it has taken weeks to get a "Qualified" statement from DoDMERB. That was official on Tuesday at 0730 AM and live on the DoDMERB portal. The USNA Portal still shows "Incomplete" on the Medical Exam Status.

We are hoping to hear soon. She has a very strong package, 3Q, TeamUSA Athlete, Coach, NJROTC Executive Officer, 200+ hrs of CS, (Parent Alum), CR 8/360, 3.98 GPA, with three Nominations including a Principal Nomination from Senator.

Can someone tell us what to expect next? How long does it take for USNA portal to update from DoDMERB? (Waiting on that darn button to turn green for a month)
Will she get an email first? A change in status when she logs in to portal?

Thank to anyone who can offer some insight.

This is what’s worrying me right now. We just did the physical and I noticed small issues like they were supposed to take DS blood pressure 3 different times and they did not. They also didn’t do his pulse as the forms instructed, and something about testing his hearing. I’m sure they do these physicals often so not sure why they didn’t follow the instructions. I guess we shall see.

Hoping you hear something soon!

We had to stay on top of the provider. DoDMERTs was good but when they kept getting the wrong form or incomplete information on the forms the Provider did submit, it was up to me to track it down. Stay on top. There is little likelihood the even above-average kid would have trying to stay on top of all this process. Even now, though DoDMERBS has her listed as Qualified I am tracking to ensure it changes from Incomplete to Complete in the USNA portal.

The Medical Exam Section just turned from RED (Incomplete) to Green Qualified. About 36 hours. Good. There is still an X instead of a Checkmark in the Completed Table. I wonder if the two fields will reconcile?

Hmm logged in to check and this is what I see today. I wonder if my suspicions were correct. I guess we shall see.

You can call DoDMETS and they will tell you what the problem is. My DS got this message and it turned out his doctor filled out something wrong. Nothing bad in the chart, just needed clarification from the doctor. It took him over 3 weeks to respond to the DoDMETS emails to correct it, but that's another whole story.

Oof, that’s another level of stress right there. The waiting when it’s out of your hands.

Thank you for the info! I’m curious to know what it is so we’re going to see about calling.
