I'm not trying to sound "mean". But a person goes through the entire "I want to go to the academy" process; the whole application process; the whole appointment process; goes to a party and tries marijuana for the first time; and NOW, they decide to find this forum and make their "FIRST POST" to ask if there's going to be a problem...........
Maybe they're a regular a "Re-registered" as a new poster to avoid embarrassment. Maybe they wrote this first post during their "Lunch hour". (6 hours ago). And maybe they got their answer and didn't feel like making a 2nd post......... Or maybe they are a troll.
I thought about that too...I thought maybe it was someone who posted this as an example for appointees to learn from.
This is just a horrifying thought as a parent. I have a son at USMAPS and a daughter "on the bubble" for USMA and this is the kind of thing that a parent lays awake at night worrying about.
We raise good service minded kids, they are stellar students, impressive athletes, community and church volunteers but they are still kids...and kids do stupid things. Our DS thinks he is "bullet proof" while riding his dirt bike or while downhill skiing. Well, he tore up his shoulder skiing (while with the USMAPS ski team) and will now be enduring a little more pain through beast because he HAD to go down the double black diamond at Killington (or wherever he was)!
I hope this isn't true and it IS a plant or a troll, but if it isn't, I wouldn't want to be this kid's parents.
