All,

I will be leaving Service Academy Forums. While I cannot remove my screen name on here, I wanted to give you a heads up. There have been various issues that I do not agree with, some in moderation, but I believe this website is a great source for cadet/midshipmen candidates and high schoolers to get information about federal service academies.

Luigi and company have some great things to do on the Coast Guard thread and elsewhere. Keep up the good work.

To the candidates, work hard, and drive for your dream. That shouldn't end at the gates of which ever academy you attend. Keep it up once you get there.

To cadets/midshipmen, everything you do now will in some way shape your future, make it the best you can.

To Coast Guard Academy cadets; the fleet is a GREAT place, you are in an outstanding service which continues to amaze the country. We're the best at what we do, know that, and know that you will never have the fanfare of our sister services. I find comfort in that. You will work with some of the greatest people in the world, take advantage of that and watch out for them.

Wait, why are you leaving this forum? I think it's always good to have different points of view on issues that are discussed here. For what it's worth, I've always enjoyed reading you and Zaphod on this forum. Where is Zaphod these days? Anyways, please reconsider!

LineInTheSand was banned for 7 days for reaching 3 infraction points due to a post made before this thread was created. His temporary ban is not related to this thread. Temporary bans automatically occur when certain infraction point levels are reached.

:confused: LITS, please reconsider. You're a great source of info and help. We need you.
I respect your decision, but just know you would (will) be greatly missed.
 
What a shame, there was no need for this.

Perhaps he'll change his screen name and come back like other banned members have done without penalty.
 
I, for one, am glad that other banned members change their screen name and come back. Some curmudgeons are just fun to have around! :thumb:

Haha hopefully, but as TN said it was a temporary ban. I think LITS left for good. :sadwavey::frown::frown:

yeah but getting around the rules just aint right.. if they are banned it is for a reason... I've moderated other forums.. it is a hard task to track IP but we did to keep ip's out....AND what I find more shocking is that this is a service academy forum.. where HONOR should be present...
but I guess that applies only to the kids.. not the parents???
 
I am sure LITS won't come back under a different name. I also hope he does come back after his time out is over.

Yea, it's a real blast when one gets degraded when they don't subscribe to his philosophy, unless one is his wingman or don't interject anything that counters his agenda, then again that is his goal.

LITS definitely used his Freedom of Speech. I think he was opinionated and had short patience with people who could not directly defend their opinions to his well formed one. Personally, I have great respect for his outlook on issues and even though he didn't convey his thoughts in the friendliest way, we all definitely could say we knew where he stands. Being one who does not beat around the bush much either, I admire his style and well be among those who miss the excitement he brings to these discussions.

LITS got his feelings hurt. He will probably eventually come back. I hope he comes back when allowed and continues to participate in a respectful and friendly way.
 
It's funny that even LITS post goodbye has become a debate on a particular person and less about saying goodbye to him. Just b/c he is banned doesn't mean he isn't lurking. So LITS hope all is well:smile:

BTW LITS was banned for 7 days, thus his feelings getting hurt is a non-issue. He caused an infraction according to the mods and was sent to the time out room. We all need to remember to play nice!
