How Competitive is My State?

OKIE DOKE!

Oregonians (ducks, beavers, platypus, whatever other critter you so shall please...)

How competitive are we?! Raise those hands! My DS has applied and has gotten one nomination (hoping for another, but not holding our breath.)

Tom Petty was right: The waiting is the hardest part (well, for the moment.)

Since everyone is asking... how about PA-12? I would guess it's more competitive for USNA and USMA more so than USAFA just due to the proximity but I could be wrong.

Let's pretend someone can actually answer your competitiveness questions for this year. What will it change? Are you going to give up if it's competitive. Are you going to quit working backup plans if it's not competitive? Quit worrying about it as it shouldn't matter at all with regard to your own actions. Keep pressing on.

Hey all,
I live in Washington state and have been searching through these forums to see if anybody has posted news about the USAFA appointments here. So far I haven't seen anybody say anything about Washington, I'm just an eager candidate trying to gauge my competitiveness in my state.

Also, I have received two nominations so far, one from my representative and the presidential one. Just waiting to hear something back hopefully soon.

Thanks!
I don’t know about entire WA state. But last year 2017, USAFA appointed 6 candidates from our district 5, Spokane.

Last year our district sent 21 candidates to academy- 8 MA, 6 NA, 6 AFA and 1 MMA. There were only 34 nominated!
