Hi everybody! I really had to dig to find this thread and then my password, haha I was a little stressed when I set up this account!
WE DID IT! It was both the hardest thing I've ever done (haha, I'm 17, what do I know) and not so hard. It's almost entirely a mental game. WE DID IT! The first couple of weeks sucked haaaard, 'cause we didn't know each other and got into trouble for even just talking to each other. Plus we did a lot of dumb stuff b/c we were all mindless. When you can start banding together and sharing the suck, it really isn't so bad almost all the time. My squad is awesome and my detailers were truly great people. You start out thinking they are just hardasses (can I write that? IDK) but it doesn't take long to see they care. I hope I can do as well by other people someday.
I see blhenrywalpole is still at it. Dude, unless you have been here you don't know jack about quitting, and that's all I'm gonna say about that.
Parents couldn't come, but I knew that going in. I'm hanging with my squadmate's folks today and another squadmate's family tomorrow, so I am set. My folks sent letters, too. People shared care packages. (OMG ya'll mom and dads sending SO MUCH FOOD! We didn't starve! ) I already had the best 20 minute shower ever and a nap. I had a nap while the sun was out! Now just hanging poolside in PT gear. Might go for a dip later!
I want to thank ya'll from the bottom of my heart, I really did take ya'll with me over those weeks. Still wanted to Tango a couple of times. All of us did and the ones who say they didn't are liars, haha, no one will say that! Think I'll let this moniker die now and choose another one for my USNA years. I love this place. I mean, I hate the crap out of it sometimes, but I love being here, love my squadmates, I would do ANYTHING for these folks, and I know I can be a good leader once I figure out how to keep myself squared away. Thanks, ya'll!
