I check the spam folder of my email every couple of weeks just in case something important missed my inbox. Tonight I saw a message (in my spam folder) from USAFA Admissions "concerning your application to the US Air Force Academy." When I checked my portal, I saw that I earned an LOA! I'm beyond excited and now hope to earn a nomination! My congressional interview is December 1.
Congrats! Do you mind sharing when your app was marked complete and the date you received the LOA email?I check the spam folder of my email every couple of weeks just in case something important missed my inbox. Awesome. Do you happen to know the date your application showed fully complete? Just trying to gauge how long the reviewing process is currently taking, as you received the LOA on Nov 7.View attachment 1774Would you mind sharing your stats?I check the spam folder of my email every couple of weeks just in case something important missed my inbox. You asked for me to share my stats- I was told that Academies choose candidates for different reasons to have a diverse class....so my personal stats will not help much but.....
-Not a recruited athlete
-White male
-I was not admitted to Summer Seminar (declined)- but was admitted to NASS and SLE
-Good but not great test scores
-Above average CFA
-Class rank 1/218
-I have quite a few extracurriculars and leadership roles
- I’m a marathon runner and wrestler
-I’m from California
I don’t know if that helps.
I would have thought you maxxed 2 events. Pull Ups and 1 mile run.
Test Type Result
Push-Ups 60
Crunches 87
One Mile Run 5:47
Pull-Ups 18
Basketball Throw 64 Feet
Shuttle Run 9.6 Seconds
I only maxed out in one event, but was told that I was above average overall.
. Based on what I have heard (AF being at > 7000 ft elevation) and other posters seen on this forum, it is clear that 1 mile run is their most important deciding factor.
I am sure your congressional interview went well yesterday. Good Luck!My congressional interview is December 1.
Thanks for inquiring....I feel that it went well. I’m anxious to hear back. California-07I am sure your congressional interview went well yesterday. Good Luck!My congressional interview is December 1.
Which state you are from?
My daughter listed USMA as #1 on all of her nom applications. She received her LOA for USAFA the first week of November last year, prior to her last interview. It ended up being a phone interview and she told them USAFA was now her #1. She also notified the other interview panels via email of her LOA after the fact. Our district is tough and rarely do MOC offer noms to more than one SA to give each applicant a chance. Offhand, I can’t recall if her interview with the MOC that gave her the mom was before or after she received her LOA. Unless they are a recruited athlete, LOA are hard to come by but I wish your child the very best! It’s been a wild ride for sure! First semester is almost complete! My DS completed his USAFA application including the DoDMERB (Potential Pilot Qualified) and CFA, except nomination for sure.
I was wondering when USAFA starts sending the Letter of Assurance?
BTW, he received a LOE (letter of encouragement) from the West Point last week. Very excited.
Thanks
They have? I haven't noticed a USAFA LOA reporting yet.
