March Army ROTC Board

This is just killing me. I've already accepted to Virginia Tech and I'm doing Army but it would be AWESOME to have this scholarship along with it.

And agreed, this scholarship would be amazing, hopefully a change will come tomorrow!

DoDMERB status! Found out yesterday morning!

For those wondering, situation was kind of weird. I became concerned when I saw I didn't get a scholarship from the January board, so I contacted the professor of military science at A&M and asked him when he though I would here something back. He then informed me somehow Cadet command messed up my scholarship offer and had my type a letter stating my intentions to get a 4 year army scholarship and then use it at Texas A&M. He had me sign it and then send it to him. That was two weeks ago and here I am with my DoDMERB status. So my advice is for everyone to check with their PMS and see if their situation is similar to mine. And Good Luck To ALL!
 
It did take the first board in Oct three weeks to post it's results.
Let's hope March is sooner.
 
I just talked with my point of contact at CC and she said that they aren’t going to start updating peoples files until after April 1st. :frown:

So I guess I should stop checking my status every half hour...
 
I wonder if what PapaBear received was a campus based scholarship based on the story. Either way it's fantastic news for them!

maybe that's why no one else has seen an update. Maybe the national scholarships from the March board haven't been input into the system yet.
 
of course, not knowing for sure without more information from OP it does really sound like a campus based scholarship. This is the same type action we took for daughters AROTC scholarships and it was offered at campus level. Still great news though!

Wow. I guess this time around they really had their work cut out for them. They have a lot to go through with the acceptances and declinations from the last board. I guess they then have to find out just how many scholarships are left at each school before they know how many they can award. I do know that it was going to be after march 12 that they were going to be able to go though the January board results as well as figure out who didn't bother to even accept or decline their offer. They were going to find out allocations left at each school after that.

The list of those waiting must still be very large as they don't seem to have awarded many scholarships this year.

Good luck to those waiting. I know how hard it is and the days going by slowly. Hopefully april 1 will get here quickly and you will all get good news.
 
On Saturday my son received a very nice handwritten note from the college he will be attending awarding him a small scholarship. It's probably enough to pay for books, and for that we're thankful. Yesterday he received an email from the college inviting him to a scholarship award luncheon in April. At the end of the email it said "Thank you, and congratulations on your scholarship to attend" and then stated the name of college. That, to me, sounded like the ROTC scholarship. The small scholarship isn't enough for him to "attend". Or maybe it was just a standard closing for everyone. I can't imagine they are having a luncheon only for the small scholarships. And he doesn't want to call the school to ask. He just wants to wait it out and wait for the mail to bring him good news.
 
March Results

Hello all. I was told by my contact at CC that the March board results have not been posted yet. She did not tell me an exact date that they will be posted but as of now, they have not been posted.

I am waiting eagerly to find out the results myself for my son. What can I say I am an Army man to my core.

Do you think that the reason CC is taking so long for this board is because they are in the process of moving? I think I read that somewhere.
 
CC is going to move to Ft. Knox, but not until summer 2010. Hope this answers your question.
Contaced CC yesterday and was given the standard CC answer "don't know when the results will be posted".
Waiting and praying for everyone who is still waiting for the results:smile:
 
That answers that question.
Any other ideas on what could be taking so long?
