Marine NROTC Scholarship?

Marine ROTC Scholarship

Just checked my DS's portal and it stills says:

application has been submitted online
Your application is at the Marine Corps District for Board Selection.
Items waiting to be processed:
 
I'm actually waiting also, I have checked the status every hour today. Mine has changed at all though. The online status still says "application at board selection..Etc. If it changes Il let you know.

And Congrats to all those selected!
 
Mine hasn't changed at all either. Still "at boards for selection..."
 
Just changed today

My daughter's status just changed today from "at district headquarters" to a whole bunch of application info too. Although we already got the call saying she got the scholarship, it says "no decision has been made." So we still don't know the school yet and that's aggravating but at least she got it so we must wait again!!

If I may ask, when did your daughter receive the call and what state do y'all live in?

Just keeping an idea of the trends and patterns on this thread!
 
Anyone from Texas?

Does anyone who was notified Live in Texas? I'm just trying to see if Texas applicants have been selected yet. Thanks
 
She got a call almost two weeks ago. No paperwork yet. We are in Massachusetts.
 
Sorry it did not get finished today. Should be able to check online tomorrow night.
 
Non Selected Email

DS received an email from the XO that he was not selected today.

I'm almost certain this is it. MO only has two boards. One in autumn and this one in March. Had I known that last year I could have saved myself a lot of status checking.
 
DS heard from BGO today that no nominations turned into appointments to the USNA from our district (10 total, no principal).

We heard he was selected for a Marine Option NROTC scholarship about a week ago and just a few minutes ago his App Status now reads:

Selection Status

Congratulations!
You have been selected for a 4-yr Marine Option scholarship.
Your scholarship has been placed at UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN. Your host unit will be UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN.

While disappointed - totally pumped - so fortunate and happy that sad news was quickly followed by great news. Good luck to all and hope you hear soon!

Congrats to your DS. He's on his way! Tell him NROTC Freshman Orientation isn't opened summer, but he better be in shape and ready for it. It's no cakewalk. And he'll need to pass the PFT in order to contract. I'm sure he's ready for it.
 
It was just posted that my daughter got her scholarship to Norwich! She is so excited and so looking forward to going! Such a great school. Good luck to everyone else.
 
I received a call during my Calculus class this morning.

And it was my OSO congratulating me on being awarded the scholarship!

My academic credentials and PFT are NOT even considered competitive, but I proved myself to them that I truly want to pursue this commission in the USMC and will go beyond the word "limit" to earn it and succeed at everything it comes with.

For those still waiting or who didn't get it, there are so many other ways to earn that commission if you truly want it and for the right purposes.

Thank you to everyone on this forum. I don't know how crazy I would be if I didn't have all the advice or information to read that is spread throughout the countless threads here.
