Medical Disqualification

Good morning,

I received a DoDMERB disqualification for "Current or history of any abnormality of the retina, choroid, or vitreous" on February 20th. This is from an eye injury I received playing basketball a few months ago. My portal currently still says "Complete but Medically Disqualified."

1) Is there some kind of timeframe for how long it normally takes for USAFA to decide whether or not someone is competitive enough to be pushed for a waiver?

2) If I'm not competitive, will I be notified that they won't push for a waiver, or do I just wait to receive a letter of rejection when everyone else does?

I am obviously a little worried that I have been waiting this long and a lot of people are receiving appointments now. Looking through the forums, I saw that it can take quite a while even after receiving a push for a waiver to get it approved. If I do get a push for a waiver, is it likely that if it isn't approved in time, I won't be considered for an appointment?

Thank you!

They do not normally notify you that they are not going to pursue a waiver. You might call your RC to check on status.
