Fall of senior year. You list your choices. Marine aviation (pilot) is a choice. Navy aviation (pilot) is a choice. If you get either one, your airframe is determined waaayyy down the flight training pipeline.
 
How are jobs allocated at the USNA? Is it based primarily on academic performance? If you major in a difficult subject such as engineering and have a B average would a history major with an A average has first choice over you?
