I am wondering about where is a good place to sit for the USNA football games? My DH and I want to come to the Navy vs Air Force game and am wondering where is the best place to sit? thank you for your help!!!!!

.
North end grass bowl area on the front row .... You run down and snatch a FG or extra point from some young kid.

And since you will be facing south, you get to soak in the rays and get your vitamin D naturally.

Speaking of football.....Army Navy 2021 tickets are on sale. I was able to buy two. My DS sent me a link, but for some reason I can't cut and paste it here.

Wherever you can find seats available after the season-ticket holders, the major NAAA benefactor tiers and others have bought up the mid-field seats. I’ve had the same seats for years, Blue side, above where the Brigade sits. Good view of mids, sideline fun, D&B, goats, post-game singing of Blue and Gold.

If you have a mid there, they can requisition tickets, I think.

N-AF is always sold out, normal times. If we are back to stadium attendance by then...

In the upper deck, above the mids, is a terrific spot. You can feel the energy and vibe rise up, and you can get a decent view of the shenanigans. Only downside is that it can get chilly as the sun falls behind you.

hoping things are more normal in the fall - booked a hotel room that can be canceled - was looking at tickets on stub hub - pricey but it think it will be worth it - especially since its the anniversary of 9/11 thought it would be super special to be there - plus seeing our mid for 5 mins will be worth it too!!!

There really isn't a bad seat ...Navy-Marine Corps Stadium is really great..especially during the playing of Navy Blue and Gold at the end of a tough game. The only thing better is singing second after the Army Navy game, wherever it is held !

As CAPT MJ said -take what you can get, even if on the other side. As a grad, I probably take the Stadium for granted -- most of my visits are during major reunions, and its hard to leave the tailgator to watch the game, but I always make sure I'm in the Stadium of Navy Blue & Gold.

For our last couple of reunions, we've used the N-Room which is under the Blue Side stands and it also has backdoor access to the concourse so that we can actually get right into the stands when/if we take a break from "reunioning"

That is one of the benefits of being the senior class going back for a reunion on a given weekend. However, I am beginning to realize what I used to tease my Dad about when we competed at Sporting Clays -- at some point, getting older is not an advantage !

Do all Mids (the entire Brigade) travel to/attend the Army-Navy game?

A handful stay back on Duty; others may be on Movement Orders for other sports or activities, but for the most part, everybody attends the Game. Upperclass with cars may travel on their own, others travel by bus convoy. (In 1983, we actually flew across country and attended the game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena -- a great time, 100% funded by the community, but a pretty complicated logistical evolution).

My understanding is that, eventually, the mids will be moved to end zone seats. I think it was supposed to be in place for the 2021 season, but COVID may have delayed things.

Agree that seats are at a premium, especially for popular games such as USAFA and reunion WEs (which now, are almost every home game). It's really a shame on reunion WEs. In many cases, you must buy a seat in the stadium in order to attend your class tailgater (because several large tailgater locations are located inside the stadium perimeter). However, MANY folks have zero intention of sitting in their seats -- they spend all the time at the tailgater. So they've paid for a seat they aren't using and it goes empty. For classes whose tailgaters are outside the stadium, you historically were not allowed to re-enter the stadium if you left prior to halftime. So, lots of folks buy tickets but end up never going to the game or leave early and don't come back. More empty seats.

The end result is a sold-out game and very few Navy fans in the stadium, especially in the second half. Kind of sad, but NAAA's priority is tickets sold vs. actual attendance. [To be clear, they want people in the stands but have created a situation where that doesn't happen.]

For the OP, your best bet may be Stub Hub or similar outlets for really good seats. Joining NAAA also helps.

We will have a plebe there this Fall (so excited!). Do the plebes have any time for interaction with parents on game days? The last home game would be DD’s birthday and we would love to celebrate, even for 5 minutes, with her.
