Hi,
I'm from Massachusetts, and I sent in my applications for nomination about a month ago. The due date was October 30th for all three, and I was wondering when I should expect to hear back in regards to scheduling an interview? Does everyone get an interview or do only competitive applicants? Will I be notified if I'm not competitive? Sorry for all the questions, just looking for some clarifications. Thanks

Each elected representative has his or her own way of doing things: interviews for some, all or none, when, where, how, criteria, method of ranking or not, etc.

It’s only been 2 business days from the due date, and there has been that activity known as an election going on. Give it another week or three. They have plenty of time before they owe their slate to the SA. It’s likely not a high priority right now.

FWIW, it took my DD from the time nom aps closed to hearing at least 2 weeks...

One of my senators closed Sept 16th; I was notified Oct 16th and interviewed Oct 29th. My Representative closed Sept 30th; I was notified Oct 16th and interview this Saturday. My other Senator closed Oct 16th; I was notified Nov 3rd and interview Nov 14th. Pretty lucky since I come from a highly competitive state (FL).

Is Florida a highly competitive state? I’ve always wondered how the states rank on competitiveness and how that’s scaled.

Very competitive state. I was so lucky to get 3 interviews. Note: so did 7 qualified candidates from my high school. But I am humbly confident!

I’ve always heard CA, VA, FL, NY (and a few more but I don’t remember which states) are highly competitive. I sure hope FL is since I had to write 12 essays alone just to submit nomination packages in hopes of getting an interview. My BGO said he is slammed with qualified candidate interviews from local high schools and re-applicants. Now if we are only talking USMA applicants, I am not sure. I am referring to applicants for SAs in general.

Wait I thought each representative is allowed to give 5 for each academy? They gave 7 in one school?

Well I am referring to interviews, not nominations. I’m lucky it was only 7 from my school. lol. No clue how many others locally received interviews as well.

Up to 10 noms for each available seat at the SA. Some years they might have 1, some two, seats in any given cycle, as long as they never have more than 5 cadets/mids charged to them at any one time.

I'm from Mass as well, applying to USAFA. I heard back from Kennedy, (D 4 Rep) to schedule an interview, but have heard nothing from Markey or Warren.

Hey also from Massachusetts here. My applications have been confirmed as received by Senator Warren, but I have not heard from any of the Senators regarding interviews yet. I believe Senator Warren said she will do her interviews some time in December as they will be reviewing applications throughout November.

Hello Everyone. Can anyone shed some light on what my DS can expect during his Congressional nomination interview? Thank you.
