DD portal status changed to accepted 4 year NROTC to Notre Dame. Email came on March 13th; Portal also changed at the same time.
Is your DD already accepted to Notre Dame via early action? My DS has a 4 year assigned there too. Waiting Regular Decision
No awaiting regular decision. Just waiting. :)
Since the portal email went out yesterday, I'm guessing we should know by the end of the week. I have an older DS graduating from Notre Dame in May. He was also on the 4 year NROTC scholarship. Commissioning in May - Aviation. 4 years ago ND used snail mail and he was admitted early action. The wait for regular decision is unnerving. I think I preferred just going to the mailbox and getting the big envelop as opposed to logging into a portal and hoping for the best. Good luck to your DD - Notre Dame's NROTC program has been incredibly rewarding and a wonderful experience for my son. Fingers crossed for the younger one.

Does anyone know if notifications will continue coming out this week, or was today it? In other words, if I got nothing today, do I have hope for the rest of the week, or am I passed over once again?
If you didn't get notified yesterday, you didn't get the scholarship on the most recent board.

@goirish1 Thank you so much! I hope the decisions come out at the end of this week, that would be fantastic! Rumors I saw were this week or Monday of next. That's awesome about your DS graduating this May; sounds like an amazing program. Good luck to your #2. I am hoping to have lots of questions for you soon. :)

Is this for the marine option as well?

Navy only. Marine board results will most likely be officially published the first week of April or so. That could easily shift a week in either direction though.

I see people are getting their NROTC scholarships. How about NROTC with the Marine option - anyone get one awarded? My son's portal says it still has paperwork to review.

There have been some recently but I'm not certain they actually received the official wordd.

We are brand new to this forum and appreciate any words of wisdom or information. Our DS is also qualified and has not heard or been seen by NROTC or USNA. He has a 760 in math and qualified physically & academically by USMA. However, other than asking for a DODMERB response for our DS doctor, we are hearing nothing. Has anyone seen or heard of any appointments/LOA/BFE or TWE for Nevada, other than 1 who declined, from CD-4?
Thanks in advance

A post on this forum has an NORTC board review schedule that seems to be accurate. I've had my application in to NROTC for months now and understand a board decision will be announced sometime the end of this month. After that, another 2 board reviews in April. However, the last review board in April isn't expected to be announced until the end of the 1st week of May and this is after most colleges require you to accept? How would this last review board work if it's after the deadline.

My application still says "All required items have been processed and no decision has been made on your application." I've been accepted to all my NROTC school for Mechanical Engineering and also appointed to the USMMA. Just waiting to see about my NROTC decision.

Thank you

I believe the schedule posted here is the schedule from last year, but the dates are very close. @NavyNOLA sometimes posts the dates of the boards as they find out. Last year most all of the notifications were sent out before the May 1 deadline, even though the schedule has a notification date past May 1.

As you get down to the wire, it may be possible to get a deposit extension, especially if you explain that you are waiting on a NROTC scholarship, but I would try to limit that to your first choice NROTC school.

I assume that if you don't get the NROTC scholarship it is USMMA for you.

I want to go active duty Navy and recently received a TWE from the USNA. If I don't receive an NROTC scholarship I'm not sure I will go to the USMMA or join NROTC as a college option student. I realize that USMMA is a path to commission but also would most likely mean I could not reapply to the USNA. Also, I've heard that joining NROTC as a college option student and working hard on grades and NROTC performance will give me the same chance as the USMMA to commission with the added benefit of focused Navy Officer training in university's with very strong Mechanical Engineering. After my TWE from the USNA, I'm waiting for NROTC's decision before I have a solid plan B.

Thank You

Don't give up if you don't get the 4-year scholarship in NROTC, still do college program. You can then apply for a four scholarship again once your a freshmen in college. That being said my Navy advisor told me that 4 year scholarships are becoming more competitive so fewer are being given out. The reason for fewer 4-year scholarships is that there are many people who go to college with this 4 year scholarship and don't even us it, or decide its not for them. That is why you see an increase of side load scholarships like double the 3 year side loads, and something crazy like 8 times the 2 year side loads this upcoming year. That is nation wide from what my advisor told me, also there is advanced standing which will lead to a commission without a scholarship.
