Curious if anyone has heard about selection for the Navy scholarship, other than the MO? I think they are similar boards to the MO but haven't seen many threads about selections.

Yes, the boards are similar but they are held much more often and are not at all synchronized with the MO boards. There are only 2 MO boards.
Keep in mind that the participants on this forum are only a small percentage of the applicants or awardees for that matter.
If you are not awarded a scholarship by a particular board, you will be automagically rolled over to the next board. You may not hear a positive or negative reply until mid-April. Be ready to execute Plan B, if necessary at that time. There will be further opportunities to be awarded a scholarship while participating in NROTC, if you decide to enroll without a scholarship.

I appreciate the quick response! Patience is definitely key, although it is interesting to hear when others receive awards. Will be sure to have a Plan B.

@rhaggs27 Tell me about it. Dad here was on pins and needles through this whole process. DS didn't get a negative reply until April 15. We had plan B, which was enrolling in NROTC MO at his #1 college without the scholarship, ready to go. He was awarded a scholarship which kicked in at the end of the first semester of his sophomore year. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

@rhaggs27, My DS' NROTC ROO advised back in November that the most recent selection boards were to meet starting on the 26th of November and 10th of December. That's a direct quote.

Please keep in mind, as I will too, that they may not review all boarded candidates in these meetings. they may only get to x number, and then as @kinnem said they will be automagically rolled to the next board (fun word - thanks!) So we may be flying the pattern, or circling waiting to land on this, and seeing "No decision has been made on your application" on the dashboard for a while.

I am also curious if the results from the recent board come out maybe just after the new year, or sooner? Those with more knowledge may be able to clarify. Being a nervous Dad, I check this board religiously to see if anyone has info on this topic, so thanks for posting was surely is on a lot of our minds. Hope what little details I am sharing here are helpful.

Happy Holidays and Best of luck to all candidates!

    Very respectfully,
    Hermie, Sr.

Son applied late November and he was selected on the 12/10 board. He received official notice a week later.

Thanks for sharing this @Love4monsters. First, congratulations to your son and family. Just to confirm and since I think a number of the candidates and families would want to know... Your son received an offer from the Dec 10th board but did not go with the NROTC Marine Corps option? I read you have more than one son but in a prior, older thread you mentioned an interest in Marine ground preference. This is the first non MO award posted to my knowledge in recent weeks. I thought about it and think it would be helpful to just confirm. Thanks, congrats again, and happy holidays. Very respectfully, Hermie Sr.

My 2021 son was color blind and would have been restricted line. He could not complete the ROTC app due to a shoulder surgery in August of his senior year making the fitness exam impossible. My current senior applied for the Navy option only and was board ready the end of November. He is commission qualified unrestricted line.

He now waits to hear from AROTC, USAFA, USMA and USNA. I hope this helps. Enjoy the season!

My DS did not hear he had the NROTC scholarship until the very end of April last year. He had everything completed in early December. Stay positive for what could be a long wait. Good luck!

Two years ago my DD wasn't notified that she received an NROTC Nurse Option scholarship until April 25th. I know that the wait is nerve racking but hang in there.

Don't know if this helps or not. Son applied in mid September for NROTC 4 year, non Marine option and found out mid October he got it. Medical is completed so now we just wait for official ok from DODMERB I guess. Good luck and I hope you hear soon.

I finished my application mid-november and my portal has said "no decision has been made" since December. Does this mean I was rolled over to the next board?

NROTC operates on "rolling admissions" basis similar to USNA. Candidates who have completed their apps prior to first board in Sept typically are notified in mid October. Everything adjusts after that. Don't give up the ship!

Thank you! He has been qualified and accepted so all is a go. Heard from 4 schools so far and waiting to hear from the rest to see where he will attend.

I wouldn't say that's necessarily accurate, as least for Navy option. You could have your application in and ready for the September board, but not hear anything until late April. If you are not selected on a board, you are rolled over to the next board and reviewed again. You would be reviewed on each subsequent board until you are either awarded a scholarship or denied. If you are rolled over to the next board, you do not get any notification. Denials seem to start coming out in February and awards and denials are completed in late April.
