Nrotc results

I believe the Marine Option (MO) and Navy option (NO) boards announce their decisions separately and that both have some initial results typically this quarter. Others can correct if I mis-state but MO results came out near mid-December from their first MO board last year, and some NO candidates, but very few, heard in the November time frame -maybe even a few folks slightly earlier. But if I would recommend, just be aware that results from the navy boards come out iteratively through end of April. Results were notified via email when they came in last year, fyi. Recommend you avoid checking your inbox about 6,000 times or focusing on this over the coming months - in retrospect that's wasted energy. The majority of candidates will not get NROTC decisions in 2019 but in 2020. Small note - recommend you re-brand your login to make it more anonymous if that is needed. And buckle in- this may be a long wait. Good luck.

NROTC Navy option results generally come out about two weeks after the board convenes. Boards generally meet about once per month this time of year, with more frequent boards in March and April, but they do not publish board dates and you only hear something if you are awarded a scholarship or declined. Otherwise your application just rolls over and gets considered again at the next board. Decline notices seem to start coming out in February.

Is there a way to rebrand my login?

One of the moderators can say for sure, but I don't believe they are changing user names any more, so you may have to create a new profile using a more anonymous user name.

If by rebrand you mean change the user name, the answer is no. If you mean change the avatar, yes. You can change it in your personal profile.

I don't believe any Navy Option boards have met yet this year and Marine Option boards have definitely not met. Be prepared to not hear a reply, either positive or negative, from Navy until mid-April. Keep working backup plans. It's a long hard haul but if you got a backup plan in place and get a negative reply in mid-April it's still plenty of time to execute on that plan.

DS just got the email he received an NROTC scholarship!
Our DS just got his email as well. His application counselor just emailed him how happy she was for him to have the 4 year in the bag this early. Takes a load off for Plan B for sure. Now, we keep waiting for Plan A, Plan A1, Plan A2 and Plan A3. And, the school he chose pays room and board for 4 year NROTC. Yippee!!!

Our DS does as well. His stats far exceed their minimum requirements so we are cautiously optimistic. He is finishing application to 2nd choice school in case, he could potentially request transfer to other school. OR the tooth fairy could just drop some appointments under his pillow. But, all joking aside he is humbled and very pleased to have this option. Different path to similar outcome and same commission. He is happy.

DS also received an email today congratulating him on his selection of a NROTC scholarship. Email does not say what type though. Anyone know how to find out which type was awarded?
DS emailed his counselor, she replied immediately with the details and lots of 'congratulations' confetti :)

DS has been accepted to 2 of the schools on his list, but not where it's placed, yet. His stats are competitive for that school (he's been told), but their acceptance rate is super low. Keeping all options open at this point, but what a great moment to be granted this scholarship! Congrats to your son and family!

For NROTC there is only 1 type - a 4 year scholarship to be followed by active duty. Only AF has scholarship types.
I believe I remembered that, but in the fog of applications, interviews, basketball throw retrievals and civilian and military academy apps I think I failed to remember the details. Thank you @kinnem for clearing the fog as it were.
