I heard that Hell-O night was actually last night. This may mean that a text will be coming sometime today.
This is true, the schedule was changed in the last couple weeks. So the plebes should have their phones and computers now.

My Plebe has no first block classes, but he still texted us at 0500 today.
He said that his favorite thing is that people show up early for briefs.
Since we pounded it into him all his life that "if you're not 15 minutes early, you're late", he thought that was pretty nifty.

it’s always the military veterans who call in early for the Skype or WebEx call, and we hang out chatting.
I must not have gotten that Memo.. I take to heart something I learned during Nav training at Mather AFB, that Time on Target is critical, and that being too early can be as bad as being too late. I live in a relatively small town, and know how long it takes to get to pretty much anywhere -- and I typically arrive on time to the minute. I will admit, this creates unnecessary stress and an occasionally exceeding the posted speed limit, but I never really liked the "hurry up and wait" thing.
Please tell me some kids at the end of Plebe Summer say something other than “It’s TERRIBLE”....anything????
My plebe had the first two blocks free, but then texted he already had a ton of homework and even more plebe stuff- they have hit the ground running! My Plebe has no first block classes, but he still texted us at 0500 today.

Why would there be two blocks free? My understanding is they have every minute scheduled. Mine tested out of wrestling so he has that free but it was still scheduled in his day.
Some athletes also like to leave 6th period free to get to practice a little early for personal warmup/mental detox.During those ‘free periods’ they have to sometimes stand watch, study pro knowledge, work on homework and academics, Plebe duties like laundry, clean their rooms, workout and a variety of other items. The list is endless. The year (and extension the 4 years) is meant to learn to schedule, plan, prioritize. Youngsters are very coveted days... no afternoon classes. Usually means a long nap. Those days are treasured by Mids. Its up to Mids how to use most of that ‘free time.’
My plebe's first class on Monday did not start till 9:55- 3rd period, leaving him free to clean, work on pleb stuff etc. since classes hadn't started yet he did not have assigned homework until the end of his other 4 classesWhy would there be two blocks free? Why the free periods?
Wrestling is not a separate course but instead part of the overall PE class and NOBODY tests out of that. FYI, in PE, they do a blocks of one thing and then move onto another.Mine tested out of wrestling so he has that free but it was still scheduled in his day.

Boxing, wrestling, swimming, etc
Yes, you can test out of specific sections of PE but not out of PE in total. I've never seen or heard of someone out of PE for a whole semester unless it was medical excuse and that much wouldWrestling is not a separate course but instead part of the overall PE class and NOBODY tests out of that. Son told me you could test out of wrestling if you had two varsity wrestling letters. He only had one.
